high EGT's

Just got back from lime rock. Had a blast. The only problem I had was seeing some very high EGT's. I was running the flash and the car was pretty rich. The guys i was in front of said i was shooting some serious flames. From what i recall i dont remember seeing too high of timing up top from when i logged a couple weeks ago. what else can cause such high egt's?

PS: car feels strong. havent notice any other problems.

FYI: EGT probe is in the second from the left runner on the manifold.

Was running about 21.5 peak psi.

Were you running pump gas?

When you're on a track, everything gets hot (even though it was snowing, hehe), so it's a good idea to at least throw in 100 octane, if not the leaded stuff.

Tow trucks are expensive.

This is true ! I actually like c16 on the track !

Works great on real tracks, too. ;) Even on a pump gas tune, you should probably run leaded gas just to keep everything cool, considering your car probably wasn't tuned after datalogging constant beatings for 20-30 minutes.

There were Dynoflashed Evo's there along with other tuner's cars there and I don't think anyone had an issue with their cars.

I love these Evo's. I've done probably 15-20 trackdays this year and all I've had to do is front wheel bearings, tires and brakes. Tell that to some of the old school Porsche or BMW guys...and especially the Audi guys and they'll sit there wondering why they paid so much for their cars. Then they'll start whining about how the Evo has a poopy interior.

When that's all they can argue about, you know you're doing okay. :)

I was running about 7 gallons 93 and 3 gallons 110.

When i hit 135 on the front straight I saw 1800F and backed right off.
