Big Man's Racing Seats??
Hello All,
I am trying to find a racing bucket seat that will fit me. I am 6'3", 275 # with about a 42 inch waist. I know Al's a good size guy, and I thought he used a Sparco EVO 2 seat, but I had a distributor tell me that the EVO 2 will not fit me. Any big guys (or ladies) out there have any experience on this subject? Al, what are you currently using in your race car?? Thanks! EVOlutionary |
I actually have a Evo 3 - but let me tell you it takes a lot of work to situate it in the car. I hired a NASCAR fabrication shop to custom make the brakets which have functional sliders.
They call that seat the "sofa" Its actually a very confortable seat and really holds you in place One time however i ran the crotch strap the wrong way over the slider bar and when i nailed it I slammed back into the roll bar cross bar i nearly broke my back |

Yeh, I was told the EVO3 wouldn't fit, guess that's why I thought you had the EVO2. With your custom brackets with the slider, do you feel you sit higher than the stock seat? I know with the off the shelf Sparco brackets and sliders you do. Do you know what had to be adjusted to make it fit? Move the seat more inboard so the top doesn't hit the B-pillar? I really want to run a race seat and a 5-point but am not having much luck. Thanks for the help! EVOlutionary |
