NHRA Competition Racer's License
Today I recieved my NHRA racer's license
I am very honored and have to thank my many sponsors and customers for making this possible. Last year - I had only TWO goals for my race car 1 - Was to acheive true HR 9 status - 9 seconds on radial tires - full exhuast - street legal and no NOS - that goal was achieved in the race against Big Valley last September with a 9.8 @ 149 mph in the 1/4 mile 2 - The second goal was to obtain a compeition NHRA license so I could go as fast as the car was able in every race. This goal required significant investment in saftey equipment to meet the NHRA rules: Full 10 PT cage Window Net Driveshaft Loop Parachute Catch can under engine and trans Additional saftey gear and equipment Chassis Certification In addition the medical testing and inspection required a verification that I posessed a functional anus which test I passed. In any event, I am very pleased to have now achieved this long standing goal with my Evo and I cant wait to get out to the track and do some legal and authorized 9 second runs. I dont know what goals or plans I will set next for the Evo. Frankly, the operation of a car like this consumes significant resources and without the assistance of my many sponsors I would not be able to afford to continue in this hobby. I feel that my # 1 duty and obligation at this juncture is to use the car to promote and support the sponsors as much as possible and help justfiy their investment of parts in my race program. Thanks again to all for your continued support. AL |
Congrats Al!
Now get out there and go faster! :D |

Congratz! I just passes my anus test to:lol:
Yeah its unreal what you have to go thru to get the nhra licenses |
Frankly - the anus test was a bit much but lucky for me I elected to use a hot looking female doctor (not that it really made a differnce)
|
Congrats Al! Well done! No Caddy donuts with the car now...

This might be a newbie question but is there a limit to how fast you can go down the strip before you need a liscence? If so what is it

You can find all the rules at www.nhra.com
Basically you can go up to 11.50 with no problems except a jacket if you have an aftermarket turbo After that you can go to 10.00 with a 5 pt roll bar, jacket 9.99 or faster than 135 requires a full cage and the license and a lot of other stuff |

the 135 mph rule is not generally enforced except during actual competition - however you are not supposed to go faster than 135 without a full cage and a master electrical cutout

Congrats on meeting those goals Al.
