Da-4banga's new dyno sheet

For those who may have been following the drama on this guy's dyno sessions - - here are the results of his custom tuning at Pruven today

- CEL was on - 300 misfire code - - Flash fixed this

Rough idel with 272 - Flash fixed this

323 whp and 327 ft lbs on pump gas with 20 psi of boost

I will post up the dyno sheet later

Dont want to comment on the very stressful situations this week regarding this particular client and what happend to his tune with anther vendor

In this case i will let the numbers speak for me - dyno sheet to follow

Glad to see that changing the crank pulley worked !! I guess that harmonic balancer does make all the difference. Great job .. :D

Yes - it seems that the crank pulley must stay stock if you want to get decent power with the stock knock correction in tact.

The noise from the "harmonics" - the accessories or just the engine activity itself seems to be very well retarded with the rubber in the stock pulley

Removing the stock pulley causes increased noise which the ecu sees as knock activity

I am not even makig a venture as to long term effects on the bearings and engine parts with this increased harmonic noise - I am not an mechanial engineer - however based upon Dave Buschur's suggestions and now our own observations I would concur that it is NOT adviseable to run one of these pulleys in a evo

Finally - the A - B test of this car with no other changes other than pulley removed showed NO whp or trq gains from the pulley what so ever

To me the pulley is just a tuning problem which has caused a lot of problems on evos I tried to tune

Big Al/ Dynoflash: Who's the Man now?!!!!!!!

:D Well guys lets keep this clean, no bashing allowed just the facts. Things got carried away the last time and thats not good for anyone or any shop for that matter. My car was dynoflashed a few months back and Al and I were both dissapointed with the low hp #'s for the amount of mods I had(300hp) but the car was smooth, pulled hard and had no c/e/l so it was ok for now. I was offered a reflash from another DSM shop and said go for it. Hp #'s went up but tq. was down and my cel was on, but it felt a little stronger so we posted up a dynosheet and thred.
Afterwards all the bashing began, and the FLASH WARS started. This is where Big Al's step up, put up, no bull**** way of doing things come into play. He contacted me and said "Bring me your car back, lemme check it out, I guarantee no f@$#$%! way u leave here without at LEAST 310hp/310 tq., with a smooth power curve and no check eng. lt. or I pay u for ur time spent, no B.S. about it. I took him up on his offer and went to Pruven's dyno in Ct. where Al started his maniacal ways..Baseline run netted low tq. decent hp.,super lean conditions and way too much detonation on the knock box from the other flash. He says "somethings definitely wrong, ur c.e.l is on, car idles like ****,and u got **** for #'s" I tell him do your thing man.
Some guys may not like him, some bash him, some even hate him, but this guy is unf@#$believable!!! this guy will not stop until the problem is solved no matter what or how long it will take..His numbers and reputation speak for themselves 353+ people without a complaint cannot be wrong man. He figure out and attributed the problem to b coming from my aluminumcrank pulley triggering the ecu. Dan pruven pruved in #'s cold hard facts that the pulley does nothing for gains, just losses because of it not being able to dampen like the stock one does. Dan says it,Al says it, and Dave Buschur says it: dont use it.
They jumped back on the dyno after hours of tuning and the results were in: 327 hp/325 tq. 11's a/f ratio, no check eng. lt, smooth and mean as hell pulls and most importantly of all THE PROOF..Big Al provides a tremendous product, a hell of a guarantee, and 500% no B.S just Pruven results!!
Now the bashing is not necessary, u guys know who u r, I honestly hope u step up & fess up and lets put all this crap to an end cuz the facts are out and they speak for themselves, like it or not, hate him or not, Big Al/Dynoflash give us what we r all looking for, smooth, powerful, reliable, daily driven, safe horsepower and who the hell doesnt want that? So take that to the grave brotha....games over.....WHO's THE MAN NOW?!!!!!!!!! :headbang: Thanks to AL and especially to Dan at Pruven performance for keeping that dyno running for me till 12:00 midnight, U THE MAN TOO, Brotha!!!!!!!!Rick, the 4 BANGR

I agree, Al doenst BS whatsoever. I like the guy and I think his straight forward personality and genius are what make ppl hated him. I like straight forward ppl. Peace.... {thumbup}

Did you change any parts after turbotrix flashed you?

i.e. under driven pulleys?

From a technical stand point you were able to make more power because the knock sensor did not detect abnormal engine noise/vibration. Witch in turn did allowed your car to run more ignition witch would equal more power.

This is what Dynoflash said about pulleys.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=65054

I agree with dynoflashes statments inregards to pulleys.

Yep, ur right, no other mods done to the car, just that Al and Dan discussed the issue of the pulley tested it and pruved it on the dyno. The aluminum crank pulley hurts u rather than help u make power :crap:

So yes you did remove the Underdrive pulleys?

Just to clearify, was it the pully that fixed the P0300 code, or the Flash?

DA-4BANGA Feb 17, 2004 10:24 AM

Pulley, just one, the crank, all else stock

Ok so you took out the aftermarket crank pulley witch was giving you noise at the cumputer determed was knock. So inturn you made more power because you were able to run more ignition advance then before.

Great!!!, Good luck with your ride. :D

TRDHarrier Feb 17, 2004 10:30 AM

Al is crazy...LOLz. He can give u crazy numbers in a safe margin.

Realy??

I was not aware of that?

MP5 Feb 17, 2004 10:33 AM

So just for clarifications sake the underdrive pulley was taken off after the turbotrix tune (which did produce significantly more power than the initial dynoflash) right? No ones flaming but there was definately an aire of superiority presented in your post with the neglect that Turbotrix had to work around an improper and harmful mod.
