I'm taking the plunge! (results pending)

I making the 8 hour trek up to CT to have Al do his thing to my '04 RS. I'm hoping for the best. Pray for me, won't you? :)

I'll let everybody knows how it turns out.

8 hours.. from dc? i drove there in 4.5 with friday evening rush hour...and the return trip took 3 hours from alexandria, va

digdat May 18, 2004 02:17 PM

good luck! :D

Maybe 8 hours is both ways?

g6civcx May 18, 2004 02:38 PM

I'm coming from central VA. So add on maybe 2 to 3 hours to your time. Plus I'm not looking to speed like mad :)

Rez90 May 18, 2004 02:47 PM

you could get the same thing done at turbotrix in NJ. but if you like to drive...

SterlingEvo May 18, 2004 02:51 PM

believe me, on your way home it will be hard not to go balls out. The difference will amaze you...

Quickshift May 18, 2004 03:20 PM

Glad to see Al is taking care of you :) Get a radar&laser dectector if you dont have one :D

WhosEVO May 18, 2004 03:34 PM

looks like you are the very first 04 evo rs to get ecu flashed :guitar:

how many miles you have on the car.....did you change the oil yet ;)

have fun :)

g6civcx May 18, 2004 03:41 PM

Thanks to all the folks who helped make this happen.

I'm hoping that things will turn out well for me. If not, I will cry and probably firebomb Al's place :)

But I hope it won't come down to that.

I have about 2,200 miles on the car after having it for almost 2 weeks. I ordered oil but it's not here yet, so I guess one more road trip and I'll certainly be due for one.

DynoFlash May 18, 2004 03:44 PM

I am looking forward to dynoing the RS - no a/c may equal more whp!

2004 Dyno Flash - get it while its hot !

g6civcx May 18, 2004 04:05 PM

Actually, it ended up coming with A/C standard. I don't know why, but it did.

yeah.....I saw a RS at the local autox 2 days a go.....talked to the owner and even he had no idea why he have the AC. He said the window sticker didn't list it as an option.....and the dealer didn't charge him any extra money for it.

his RS has no radio, pwr window or pwr door lock.....so I guess the AC is a "gift" from :mitsu:

btw.....I asked him did he test the AC...and he said it's real

g6civcx May 18, 2004 04:17 PM

A/C came standard, as well as factory prewiring for the stereo. They figure not enough hardcore people in America to buy a truly stripped RS!

DynoFlash May 18, 2004 04:28 PM

Pruven can change the oil and filter while you are there - they stock it all

Also - I suggest you consider a Walboro fuel pump while you are at it - your choice - but if you want that its costs 200 installed and you have to be there by 1:00

g6civcx May 18, 2004 05:08 PM

Thanks, Al, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to decline both the oil change and the fuel pump for now. I'll be there at 3pm as we agreed earlier, if not earlier.
