E-85, what other supporting mods will help me reach 400 whp?

Hello there, I have a IX with the mods in my sig, and I was going to get a Buschur FMIC and get it retuned by Buschur, but the more and more I read about E85, the better it sounds..... So I'm considering just doing the E85 injectors/pump/tune route, and get the little switch I've read about to switch between my current map/E85 map...

But do you think it'll get me close to 400 whp? I want to keep the car reliable, so I don't want to go any higher then 400 at this point, but I think E85 is still a pretty reliable source of power and I can do without cams and **** like that....

thoughts?

what size injectors are you planning on running

mazdadike Feb 11, 2009 02:44 PM

i believe you need a 30 percent compensation over petro

im not to sure about the evos but i know with DSM they upgrade fuel lines also.

but they claim they hardly ever knock

probably 750's, but I think it's probably best the Buschur decides that for me.

If you are going to run E85 you will need larger then 750's. Get some 1000's and a walbro FP

You should be close to 400 with that. What PSI do you plan to run at

Well like I said, I plan on keeping it somewhat reliable, so between 26-28 psi, but I'd say closer to 26 ideally.

Thats a decent PSI boost from stock so I dont see why not

mazdadike Feb 11, 2009 06:08 PM

yes defiantely a upgraded fuel pump. and maybe a FPR also thats just a suggestion

Hey Im in doing the same thing. just bought 1000cc injectors, hks cams, and still looking for a good deal on a walbro pump. 400 is my goal as well, but i dont think itll happen.

there's no way he'd get close to 400 whp without E85 on just those mods. Alot of VIII's with FP Green's are only making a little over 400 whp, so E85 and he'll be set..... me too!
