Ralliart on E-85.... stock fuel system can't keep up!

I knew from the start that the stock fuel system would not be enough for my near future power upgrades (cams and ported intake manifold in addition to items in signature) but I was hoping that it would keep up with current mods (see signature)... nope!

Running at the 1/4 mile strip when over 21 psi for 3 seconds or more it starts to lean out. IDC is over 100% and the fuel pump can not keep up with the demand. This only actually hits in 5th gear due to boost dropping so fast in 1-4 (it doesn't stay above 21 psi for more than 2 seconds or so) but when it shifts into 5th boost stays high for a lot longer time period and the stock fuel system just can't keep up.

So, even the tinny little turbo on the Ralliart overwhelms the stock fuel system on E-85.

I'm not surprised given that e85 requires approx. 30% more volume than gas. Did you do logs before and after the switch? It is possible that injectors were maxed out as well as fuel pump. If it were me I would stay off the juice until bigger injectors and pump(s) added.

Good Luck

Can you turn the boost down a bit until the IDCs are safe?

How does it do at, say, 18psi?

standard minimum when switching to e85 is an upgraded injector and fuel pump. for e85 keep the afrs around 11.8-12.3

but yes until you get these decrease the boost to keep the afrs in check.
