93 to e85 ditch inline pump?
 

Hey guys wondering what you would do in this scenario... I’m currently running pump 93 and want to switch to e85 but all components are gas friendly only. I currently have pump inline and one in tank. My questions is to save time and $$$ can I just replace inline pump and tank pump with e85 friendly pumps or would you ditch everything and start fresh? Thanks in advance might be a obvious question but I’m very new to this.

you have 2 pumps for 93? what are your mods? if you are pretty much bolt ons and want to go e85, just get a set of 1000cc+ injectors and a walbro255. should support just fine for an e85 bolt on evo.

Yah bought the car like that has Walbro inline and in tank, tank one I know for sure is 250. 280 kelford cams, turbo tuff rods, titanium springs and retainers, garret gt35r 82mm turbo, 1400hd pistons. Tail 38mm wastegate. Magnus v5 intake. Maf less. Car put down 548whp on dyno.

I don't ever use external pumps unless absolutely necessary because they can get 'hot' where located, and they tend to be noisy, and vibration has more of a deleterious effect on them it seems.

For E85 and 550rwhp I think you will need 2x Walbro 450 in-tank pumps, one on a hobbs switch so that only 1 pump runs while you drive (and heats up the fuel)

This is the most common way where I'm from to utilize E85 effectively, affordably

The factors of uncertainty are: boost, fuel lines, regulator, rails, reference
For example, high boost weakens pump fuel flow (because of referencing), small fuel lines could limit flow, poor rail construction, etc...
Assuming the fuel system is basically perfect and the boost isn't too high to push the pump out of range. It could go either way at 600-650bhp IMO

Just bought a Walbro 450 last night, fuel rail looks stock, fuel line looks beefy but not sure on sizing, oh it made the 548whp on 30psi of boost. Also bought speed density setup so I’m ready for this retune. Also gotta switch to 92 octane because closet 93 octane station is 1hr away one way. Thanks for info so far I think I’m getting a grip on this stuff, I’m going to look up switch now Thanks
