I think the problem here is that 100% with either changed restrictor pills or an aftermarket BCS, and the boost correction tables zeroed out, then it can cause overboost. It has nothing to say "that's enough, stop increasing boost now".

So please see how your warpath is misleading. Share proper information.
want to elaborate? he said he had zero'ed out the boost error correction tables therefor the wastegate duty cycle at 100% represents 100% boost pressure..

if not then please explain

if there is no boost pill inline on the vacuum lines and no restriction then how can you run 100% wgdc with boost error correction tables all set to 0?

Yea it's not the tirade he is on currently though.

Back to your original problem. Which ports did you connect to which?

Should be like this with *straight* vac lines:

Also try swapping the plug as you might be using the secondary BCS plug accidently (I'm not sure which one is correct on Evo 7). Of course also bring your WGDC down while testing.

Because that is how 3 ports work. They need no boost pills. The solenoid will run the base WGDC you have in your tables if you have Error Correction zeroed out. If you have 100% WGDC inputted, you get 100% WGDC.

If he has the incorrect port into the solenoid then it's not powered and not running any WGDC.

ok and i said what wrong then? i know if the BEC is zero'ed out it runs off what is put in the Main Map Wastegate Duty when everything is connected properly.

All I said to him was, he better change the 100% WGDC before he hooks it up right and boosts again or its going to try to run lots of boost.

so im confused did you read what i said wrong or what?

Those are the ports that I used (I went off this diagram in fact). I'll have to file off some of the plug on the harness I got from spoolinup to make it fit in the other BCS socket but I'll do that tonight if replacing all the hoses doesn't fix the problem.

I got it working! I had modify the gray connector to fit the spoolinup harness. "Modify" means file off the lug that stops it fitting into the gray connector.

Attached pics of my boost curve graph in 3rd gear and my WGDC table. Can anyone recommend any improvements? I'm in a stock Evo 8 MR.

Every car is different. Who is tuning your car? Any "improvements" will rely on alot of factors...mods, timing, fuel, etc. You need to log it, see where everything else is at and go from there. If you're running super rich you can play with it safely a little bit here and there but make sure you at least read up on https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...-tune-evo.html I can say that I'm not new to tuning, I understood a lot but that gave me the confidence to start toying around, it's pretty straight forward. It's the tips and tricks that take a long time to learn

I'm tuning my car myself. Or attempting to. I'm new to it but I figure if I make small changes I'll learn. I'm also trying to learn without blowing anything up.

I'm spending so much time logging and looking at the logs I almost see TPS, Load1B and KnockSum in my sleep.

I've read up on the "How to tune an Evo" topic, as well as Merlin's tuning guide. Lots of good info there.

Mostly here I was looking for someone to say "Why the hell does your WGDC map look like that? The 4000 evos I've tuned all have X shape..."

Vertically interpolate (smooth) a load point or two before peak pressure RPM in the WGDC table, that will help reduce the spike.

Wait, my pigtail isn't labeled, so how do I connect the wires?
