You should have it in your .xml if that is v7 Tephra. Scalings are:

<scaling name="OffsetWGDC" units="%WGDC Change" toexpr="(x-128)/2" frexpr="x*2+128" format="%.1f" min="-64" max="63.5" inc="0.5" storagetype="uint8" endian="big"/>
<scaling name="Temp" units="Celsius" toexpr="x-40" frexpr="x+40" format="%.0f" min="-40" max="140" inc="1" storagetype="uint16" endian="big"/>

Absolutely... Richard already has the code and he tried to not step on your v1 xmod code.

Don't do it in v5.10. The code behind the XML is not there.

Thanks. I just figured it out :/

I must go for V7 at last.

I know this is an old thread but I have some Questions.. First, I installed the bcs according to the 1st page and no matter what settings I use in ecuflash, the car will only boost to wastegate pressure. Does it matter which wire you connect from the pigtail to the stock wiring? Could I have them reversed? I don't get any type of CEL from having it hooked up this way.
second question is if I'm using the tephra 7 then I shouldn't need any additional xml info added to my rom do I?

It doesnt matter which wire you hook it to.

You either have:

-Vaccum lines ran incorrectly
-Defective BCS
-Incorrect ROM settings
-Wires are not making proper contact

I've got the 10 Ohm resistor to match the impedance of the stock BCS, but it doesn't really matter. It works just the same without it.

Questions:

I'm having issues getting this BCS tuned in. First time messing with a BCS and it doesn't help that all the windows are labeled differently in Tephra then what the OP listed in his guide but its coming along. (BTW, this is not for a stock turbo.)

Using my WGD map i got my gauge reading 25psi which is what i wanted. But the moment i add the stock correction back in she drops to 15psi. I see that my load error is a permanent 19.8 which is what i'm guessing is causing the correction to cut me back so hard. I have 25psi if you add the Adder and Desired LOAD/PSI together but when i look at my MAP and JDMMAP logs there not reading anything even close to real PSI so i'm guessing that might be my issue. I have a USDM stock map sensor and from what i'm reading i guess it doesn't really read over 22psi? So other then not having a clue on how this would work on the stock map sensor i just so happen to have a 4 bar on the shelf. I tossed the settings in and ill give it a try tomorrow.
  • Now with the 4 bar map and the correct settings I'm hoping to see correctly logged boost pressures in evoscan now, yes?
  • Which then will allow me to put a combined 25psi into my ADDER and DESIRED maps and they should function correctly now?
  • Also, if you change the ADDER does that effect your WGD Map setting? Does it scale the WGD Map in any way or does it just effect the correction side or things?

Enlighten me if you can please, Thanks!

Yes

Yes, just make sure that your ecuflash scalings for these tables are properly set.

Also, if you change the ADDER does that effect your WGD Map setting? Does it scale the WGD Map in any way or does it just effect the correction side or things?

The boost Adder value is always added to the Boost desired engine table.
The map sensor rating (4 bar) is absolute pressure.
Omni 4 bar = 4 x 14,5PSI = 58psi. (It include atmospheric pressure + boost)

So if you want 25psi relative pressure: you want 25psi + atmospheric pressure.
The boost adder should be set to the atmospheric pressure (14.5psi). So your Boost desired table will show relative pressure: 25psi. This helps and simplify tuning.

Example:
You are boosting 25psi.
The ECU see absolute pressure so 25psi + 14.5psi.
It compares "actual boost" with "boost desired table value + Boost adder"
The boost error correction table is called and base wastegate duty is changed or not.

Hope it's clear.

That helps a lot, thank you.

Now with the Desired PSI map, the value limit that i can enter is 24.7 so if i want a little more i would be fine just adding that to the ADDER correct? Its normally atmosphere pressure but does not HAVE to be, yes? So 29 ADDER and 10.5 desired would get the job done?
