Noob to EcuFlash, many questions...
I picked up a Tactrix cable not too long ago after reading up a bit on being able to reflash my '03's ecu. I also have a Innovate wb hooked up and can do basic datalogging off that with the logworks software they included with it, and now I want to sit down and learn the in's and out's of the EcuFlash program. I was able to find a quick intro to tuning with the program which helped out a bit, and my extensive Honda tuning background with Crome, Uberdata, BRE and a few others helps a bit too (except that they were on a speed density system). I see alot of information flying around that looks very good, but where would be a good starting point for me to start learning? I know a good logger is key to street tuning, so I'm looking into what to use for that as well. For basics should I just start with fuel and timing adjustments to reach the afr's I want, or do I have to start playing with maf trims and other numbers in order to get everything set correctly?
If anyone has any good links to any intro's to EcuFlash or intro's to tuning with it and it's little quirks, please post them up.

For logging, most use EvoScan or MitsuLogger
You'll want to update your ROM so you can log 2 Byte Load, there are how-to's in this forum.
The basics of tuning Evo's are simple... we have High Octane Fuel/Timing maps and Low Octane Fuel/Timing maps... highs are for running smooth, and lows are for consistent knock.
The ECU cross references a Load value (the reason for logging 2 Bye Load) with whatever RPM you're at and uses the given cell for fuel/timing.
Evo 8's only scale load tables up to 260, so you'll want to rescale your maps to 300 if you want to run more than 22psi (there's a how-to around somewhere)
The stock Evo 8 fuel pump is already maxed out from the factory... if you up the boost, you will be running lean. Buy a Walbro 255 and you will note how much richer you're running.

I pretty much understand the high octane/low octane fuel and timing maps, but what is this 2 byte load you speak of? I do plan on bumping the pressure up a hair, maybe up to a constant 21psi with as little drop off in the rpm as possible (right now it shoots to 19 then drops to 16 pretty quick), so I'll look into the walbro pump. I had a walbro 255lph HP pump on my honda and had nothing but problems with it, has anyone had any issues with them on evo's either?
I appreciate the comments, keep 'em coming...I've got a long way to go lol.

If you are serious about self tuning you need to get a WB02 to log AFR's.
2byte load is the memory variable in the ECU that the ECU uses to make decisions about what timing+fuel to use - hence why it needs to be logged for tuning...
I'm pretty sure 99% of people that upgrade the Fuel Pump (and 99% of Evo8's do) use Walbro's - just get it installed properly and buy it from a proper place - lots of dodgies going around..
Also do a LOT of reading and a LOT of logging before you make ANY changes...
