Here's mine. 93 Octane - 23psi peak / ~20-21psi @ redline.

A/F 11.5 down to ~11.1

Peak load is ~280 or a bit more. 235ish by 7200rpms

Occasional 1-2 counts but very rare and random.

Evo VIII turbo w/ 10.5 hotside. 280 cams / 850cc injectors / MBC / o2 housing / Turboback / header / intake

This is for my Evo 3 with the Evo 8 ecu conversion.
Blitz Intake with Evo 8 MAF, Megan O2, 3" Megan down pipe, 3" Kakimoto exhaust, FIC 750's and BR8ES plugs running 25psi. This made 333whp and 289wtq on virtual dyno (spreadsheet version)

check out my map......i bought the car with this tune on it. I have no idea who tuned it. just got my hand on a tactrix cable today and will do some logging tomorrow hopefully. Just FYI i am a complete beginner but even i think this looks a little funky.
Mods are stock 9 turbo, full TBE, Intake, walbro 255, UICP, act hd, hallman mbc, spiking 25 psi tapering to about 21 ish (boost gauge)
i attached the fuel map also.

You should probably shift some of those unwanted columns from the left cruise area to the boosted area.

Hey guys, what kind of load would be typical of a evo ix with tbe and hks 272s at 3000 rpm? I'm trying to dial in spool up but I'm seeing what I think is compressor surge.

Timing at 240+ load makes no sense to me... I don't see why it would go down then back up like that. Timing definitely needs work, fuel is hard to say because we'd need a log.

escodotcarter if your evo is like my IX, you simply can't know what AFR you are running by looking at the fuel map, you need a wideband and log you afrs
my car was tuned by someone else and the fuel maps had absolutely nothing to do with reality, something someone told me was "usual" uh ?

so I did what I read in the must-read Merlins EcuFlash EVO 7-8-9 TUNING GUIDE-V1.7a and made a fuel map with 11.5afr for the most part and the result was the red line :

that...was supposed to be 11.5afr from around 3500rpm to 8000 !
it gives you an idea of how un-reliable just looking at a fuel map is or how messed up a tune can be

SORRY for being off-topic so I'll get back to it...
in case you wonder, the ignition maps are reliable, you should see the same advance you have on the map when logging, unless you have more than 3 or + knocksum which will lower the advance

Get rid of the 320 and higher load cells and increase the resolution in the 100-240 load range. It will make your car smoother and you should be able to pick up some midrange torque.

Try lowering the high rpm timing and raising the boost to 25 psi. The car will be faster with more boost.

So you just set everything in the fuel map to 11.5? That just sounds borderline dangerous. It's fairly common knowledge that the numbers in the fuel map are just that, numbers; they have little correlation with the actual AFR the car will see at that load/rpm, unless you scale your injectors and MAF to get them to reach those same numbers.

raptord, seems like he did that just to see how far it was off, not for "legitimate power tuning"

Yup, the idea was to visualize the offset between the fuel map and reality, I'm a complete newbie so i tried to understand what was going on.
The picture shows my attempts at scaling the MAF.

It may be "fairly common knowledge" that the fuel maps and reality don't match but I didn't know that at the time. Now I not only know but I can show it to people who are beginners like me in the tuning world.

- fp green 73HTA
- GSC S1
- stock 2l engine
- 24->21psi
- seeing 270->220 load in 4th gear road dyno runs
- 12.214s@112.6mph 1/4mile (no doubt the car can do better)
"not made by me" ignition map, it's not fully tuned since my afrs are still all wrong.

I just took a few maps from this thread, and made this one for my 93 octane, stock turbo, exhaust/intake '04 RS. I ended the top at 310, so that I could get more resolution between 100 and 180, and then I averaged the numbers between. See any problems?

Also, what do you guys do for your low-octane map, do you leave it stock, or do you change that as well?
