DB, If you can tell me exactly which table you are talking about, I can answer your question. A screen shot of the table would get the job done.

Thanks mrfred,

The new ROM 96530706 with Tephra V7 in it. Under Periphery>EUC periphery0(FAA)bits>
"for immobilizer function disable set to 0"

This particular car that had the problem, the Immobilizer is set correctly, the car is a 2004 EVO RS, we set the Immobilizer hex to 0058 and it still would not start.

It appears that according to the FAA bit for the immobilizer that 0 means the immobilizer is disabled. The car would not start when it was set to 0. When it was set to 1 it would start.

I'd think that if the immobilizer was correct that the car should start with it set to either 0 or 1.

0 being disabled from what I can see should have started the car and did not.

My understanding is that if you want to disable the immob. you have to set the Immob. to 0x0000 and set the periphery bit to 0

To enable the immob. set the periphery bit to 1 and set the immob.

Do you mean the immobilizer code or the immobilizer "hex"?

Immob. code

The immob. hex changes from year to year and in my XML I describe what that needs to be for each year:

0x0040 for 2003 USDM
0x0055 for 2004 USDM
0x0058 for 2005 USDM
0x004D for EDM

Hi Pehnom,

I tried the 0x0040 for the evo 8 JDM 2003 and my car will not start.

Do you know the value for the hex for 2003 evo 8 JDm, I have tried 0x004B and this does not work either.

Thanks

Dale

Add the XML to your old ROM XML def. to find out what your old Immob. Hex was and use that. I have no idea what the JDM 8 hex would be.....

Verify you have everything copied over including your current immob. key and immob. hex.

If it's still not working put 0x0000 in your immob. key and immob. hex and set periphery bit FAA bit.03 to 0 to disable the immob. setup completely just to check.

Report back....

Hi All,

Thanks for your help, I managed to get it working. There were prephery bits turned on that should of been disabled. Mainly EGR.

Thanks again,

Hi all, newbie here, 0x004B seems the correct immobilizer for the jdm EVO 8, but I have a feeling it should be changed from 0xFFA through to 0x1008, This is from comparing the rom images using a hex editor, I will test it out today and post the results.

BTW, awesome work all of you!
