AEM wideband not recognized in evoscan?

sorry for so many threads, but i seem to hit a snag every step of the way into setting my car to personally tune/remote tune..

what i did step by step:

-car came with an aem gauge, and it has been tuned before
-i bought a tactrix and an aem to serial adapter
-also purchased a serial to usb converter from the tactrix guy (out in new zealand or whatever..)
-plugged in the usb converter, installed drivers
-set up device for com port 2 (and later tried 1)
-evoscan set to the same com port, as well as aem uego setting
-evoscan says "open port 2 isnt connected"

any ideas? i have used the gauge to log on my tuners computer, so it does work. for some reason evoscan isnt picking up my gauge. it tells me to unplug the usb and plug it back in and try again, then audibly says "link disengauged".

I'm in the same boat as you, AEM isn't seen by EvoScan.
