I'm after a TMR 220 map, can anyone help?

Hey
I'm very new to the whole ECU tuning thing (and EVO's in general) and have just ordered some cables from limitless and have been told to locate, if possible, a Aussie spec Evo9 TMR 220 map to flash to my standard Aussie 9. I think this is a Ralliart map so I assume that it should be ok with EvoM (the same as the other Mitsubishi factory maps in this thread). If anyone has this map to share it would be much appreciated. This might be more aimed at Aussie members. Sorry for any Noobishness. It's because I'm a noob. Thanks

The TMR 220 map is a bit anemic and since all cars behave a little differently you would want to log AFR's/knock etc after flashing. Do you have a wideband installed or on the way? You'd be much better to have a proper tune done by someone in your area if you can.

Ok, no I don't have wideband yet but will install one before I start any tuning. The reason I'm going the self tuning option is that here in Aus a tune costs at least $500 to $600 and I live 4 hours return drive from my mechanic ( I live in the middle of nowhere) so it just seems easier to go that DIY route. Am looking for 250 or so kw. Doing intake, boost solenode (grimmspeed) Walbro 255 fuel pump, hotside intercooler pipe, 8MR BOV. With a tune I'm hoping thats enough. Might look at one of the FQ tunes to start and go from there. Any thoughts or suggestion much appreciated.

lol i could give you a tune for $225 with ecu boost that will blow that factory map away... and remotely from across the world with the same or better results from your local tuners.

On 98 you wont be getting anywhere near 250 wkw with those mods. 210-215 wkw is more realistic, but thats still a big improvement over stock.

Nothing wrong with self tuning, I'm learning myself now as well, but just be careful flashing another cars tune to your car - logging of the results is essential. As stated above you could get remote tuned by letting someone access & control your laptop and you could even use a webcam so they can see whats going on. Some guys just log then make changes and all you do is drive the car as they tell you to.

Thanks for your ideas guys.

I was thinking 250 at the crank so 215 at the wheels is probably where I'm aiming for. The more I read the more i think ill go down the log, log, log then make some small changes route. I'm a bit of a computer geek and most of what I'm reading makes sense, i think that once I get my cables and get things running on my lappy it will be clearer in my mind. If not ill just pay someone to do it. EvoM people seem pretty happy to help too, which will be handy. Thanks again

^this.

A "protune" is definetly the way to go. Generic maps like the one the OP is talking about are ok but wont work on every car and you'll never see full power with a "preloaded" map. The Accessport always makes me laugh, just because some people think they can just flash a preloaded map and boom there making 100% power and its safe.

get a 3port + exhaust + wideband then get an etune..

you will get 210wkw easy, which is 280fkw... 25% driveline loss

This!^^^

Evoscan 1.3U cable w/software = ~$180
Innovate LC-1 = ~$200
tscomp tune = ~$230 AUD

$610 for the same/better result than most tuners within 12hrs drive.

The 1.3U cable delivered with tracking is 196.50 AUD, I just bought one.
Still a very good deal as Benja stated above.

There's nothing wrong with taking it slow and learning yourself though either, just be careful is all.

Thanks for the ideas guys.

Have ordered the 1.3u cable and will get rest of exhaust done soon (already have front pipe in).

My next shopping list reads.

Grimmspeed 3 port
Ets Lp2 hot side intercooler pipe.
Innovate lc-1 wideband
Walbro 255 fuel pump (might not need it but for safety sake)

The car already has a 8mr metal BOV and a k&n filter and alloy suction pipe (the original owner removed the airbox and replaced it with a eBay special which I had to then replace again. Doh!)

So just need to workout my tune out and I'll be set for now.
