grimmspeed 3port & omni 3bar= Regrets...

ok i just installed a grimmspeed 3 port and omni 3 bar map last night. i did a few pulls and called it a night. next day i changed some values around and was attempting to dial in my boost curb. at one point i needed to go do a few things so drove around while doing my best not to boost. on my way back home i decided to do a few logs. while doing my last log (btw was not pushing it hard at all) the car felt like it misfired then just died between shifts. go to start it and it just sounds flooded and refuses to start unless you hold the pedal while starting, then it will fire up knocking hella and just sounds awful till you let off the gas and immediately dies. the crank actually sounds different also! sounds like the starter is just shot but know thats not the case.

tried swapping the Map sensor out and re flashing with no different effect and the exhaust smells like pure fuel after trying to start (afr was normal the entire time prior while tuning)... ive found a few people that have had a similar issue but no fix. im going to pull my plugs tomorrow and see if their fowled but thats all i can think of.. i dont understand if it was incorrect scaling why it wont start after its back to the old sensors and known working rom... someone please help, im so irritated...

The issues you are having are most likely not related to the install of the MAP or 3 port EBC.

Did you re-scale the MAP sensor settings to match the Omni?

What mods are on your car?

It almost sounds as if you FPR has failed. This can cause a flooding of fuel and the car won't start because it it getting to much fuel.

yes i have the scaling set to the 3bar omni. this is what i found scaling wise.

0.68--25
1.19--49
1.72--70
2.23--96
2.76--120
3.27--144
3.80--170
4.31--195
4.84--225

if i use evoscan and activate the FPR will i be able to hear it activate? i did that and didnt hear any sort of clicks or noises what so ever. how would i test for a faulty FPR?

mod wise i have
• Synaps re circ BOV
• Perrin 4" air intake
• Yellowtop Battery
• Clutch Pill delete mod
• Battery Re-Locate
• Greddy TI Old school
• Agency power steel braided clutch line
• Omni 3 Bar
• Forge adjustable wastgate
• Kelford 272 camshaft set
• 750cc Ball Injectors
• Grimmspeed 3 port
• Injen lower intercooler pipe
• Injen upper intercooler plumbing
• EGR delete
• basic port and polish
• EGR port plug
• Walbro 255 fuel pump
• Greddy intercooler
• DC Downpipe
• Exedy street clutch
thats all i can think of at the moment

I honestly don't know how you can test the FPR except for switching it out with another one. I know it maybe a stretch but if you know someone else local to you with an Evo maybe you can borrow theirs and swap it out and see.

i think 19 psi was the highest i saw, the car was being logged when this happened but as my luck would have it for some reason the log file is screwed up with all the titles for each data row is blank. no clue why thats the first time ive seen my logs screw up like that....

Sounds like you didnt mod your ROM correctly for your MAP sensor.

i have the scaling listed above

here is the reference
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...-scalings.html

Dont think i messed up the rom portion, if that was the case my car would have started after i swapped the oem map sensor back and flashed it back prior to the 3port and omni3bar install.

this morning i attempted to start it and the cranking sounds normal again compared to last night but still has the same issue so im thinking the FPR mite be the problem. ill try to get some video up tonight, i think it sounds flooded but not sure. hopefully someone will be able to tell from a video.

well pulled my plugs to check them out and number 1 looked like this and the rest just looked like they were soaked in oil and fuel. hopefully that plug is the only thing wrong.. any one know what would cause that? to high EGT or to lean of fuel possibly? but egt and afrs were perfectly fine from what i saw the entire time up till my motor stalled. plus those plugs maybe have only 5k miles on them..
