checked my afr's with the innovative......confused
 
i hooked up the innovative LM-1 in my cat-delete and the car was street tuned by AL.

3d gear pull, my AFR's were 10.4-10.6 @ 22lbs of boost. jacked the boost up to 25psi and it sat at 10.8-10.9 i had fresh 93octane from exxon in the tank.

Now, when making adjustments for 110octane how would you all go about it. i pulled the maps and everything looks real conservative. any suggestions for timing advance(how many values to adjust and which ones to start with) and high octane fuel map (where to start pulling fuel or just advance timing a bit first).

any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

btw, reason i'm confused is because the afr's look pretty rich to me. looks like theres some power left in the car. anyone else?

AL, i talked to Warrtalon about that and he said i'd need ANOTHER custom tune for race gas. i thought that was bs and i'm glad u chimed in.

is it still possibe to get a high octane map before tomorrow's track event? it would be greatly appreciated and i dont like emailing you during your busy schedule so i figured Warrtalon would ask u about it.

If you are running at a race on race gas I would say for that day you can try and make a racegas map and get the afr's to 11.5 to 11.7, but yea on pump you are rich you can get away with 11.1 and probably pick up a few hp

My schedule does not permit accomidating your present schedule

After this weeknd you can order a E FLASH! for race gas and I can adjust the map for a 100% race gas use

The map you have now will work fine with race gas at high boost it is just not optimized for 100% race gas power delivery

(The tuning is on the rich side, however there are other fuel tims active and I think it would run 11.0 /1 as I logged it if you took the measurement in the same manner which I did)

Without supporting logs, it's really impossible to tell why your AFRs behaved the way they did. FWIW 25psi on 93 octane is considered unwise by most tuners.

The only thing I can think of is the way Al logs air fuel is thru the muffler, and you have your innovative actually plugged into an o2 bung somewhere on the o2 housing or downpipe. This will probably cause Al to get an 11.1 reading on the street and your 10.6 reading. You are feeding the o2 sensor right when it comes out of the motor and Al is feeding it at the tail pipe. The reason I say this is I had my old car on the dyno and it was reading 11.5 with the dynojet sniffer in the tail pipe, but my wideband was reading 11.1 when I had it into my downpipe.

went to the track and all they had was 114 unleaded. car ran like crap and but i messed with the eflash to advance some timing and the car ran the same as 110 octane. ran a 12.2@113.9. i need to get with Al to send me a map for race gas.

Did you log your 3rd gear pull? Do you know how to use LogWorks? If so could you post the chart? If you do not know how to use logworks, then pm me the log and I will post it.

Bingo...The wideband at the tail pipe reads approx 0.4 leaner than the wideband at the end of the downpipe. That was the difference in my car between the dynojet tailpipe dyno and the innovate at the downpipe. But my tuner knew this and tuned the car for an 11.5 AFR from the tailpipe. In reality it was 11.1 at the downpipe.
