why i can't save/open rom?
Hello,
finally i am able to read my stock ecu ROM with the cable. i am trying to save my stock rom for the base but i can't save it. i made sure i entered .hex, .bin but it will say 'can't open image file'. also, for some reason, i can't open sample rom file, keep saying 'can't open image file'. any suggestions??? please... Thanks. |
Hi
Is it possible for you to post a screen shot of this error message? MB |
If you are trying to SAVE your rom, and it says CANNOT OPEN image file, it means your likely using the open file dialog instead of save file dialog.

funny thing is that i cannot open sample 'EVO8 JM9693' file, it says 'can't open image file'.
so, well, i will just try connecting tactrix cable and click 'read from ecu'. then it starts to download to my laptop. i was able to see my fuel/timing/etc on my laptop. before i do anything, let me save my stock rom to ram. so, i click on 'save ROM as' then typed in 'stock ROM.hex'(also tried stock ROM.bin) and he shows 'can't open image file for writing. ================================================ .. . . (got this msg when i click on 'save rom as' and typed in stock rom.hex) ================================================= MJ, i am not sure what it open file dialog vs save file dialog. i know i am not goot at computer but...someone help me. Thanks. |
