A Virgin Logger's first log (impressions+questions)

After performing the 2 byte load mod, loaded up the laptop and drove from one house to another...took a log of the whole trip. My impressions and results are as follows:

1. I didn't realize through the forum posts that Evoscan's boost value is a !little! bit off. You should have seen my face when I thought I hit 47 PSI...

2. The only case of knock throughout the whole endeavor was during passing... hit knocksum 7 and set off the alarm... But I can't figure out for the life of me why. TPS read ~40%, load was scarely 130, air, egt, timing advance, all normal. Possibly related to using a turn signal?

3. ECUload and 2byte MUT values suprisingly close...more so than I thought they should have been. only departed by maybe 2 points in most spots, of course except for 160+.

Now I'm off to take some controlled acceleration runs. I learned a lot in that first log. If anything, I hope this experience helps some other fearful loggers take the leap.

ECULoad and 2 Byte Load will be similar until it clips at 160 (for ecuload)

Calculated load (Loadcalc in Evoscan, LOAD in Mitsulogger) is where you probably see about a 10% difference depending on several factors.

After a few runs, I decided to try and remove the boost taper... I read on here Boost limit values just all had to be set even (at 255) however doing this had 0 effect on load, acceleration, knock...etc...

I'm positive I flashed correctly and did re-check the values. Is this not the correct value to modify?

Removing the boost taper is more involved than that. The first step is modifying or removing the restrictor pill in the boost line at the boost control solenoid. After that, you'll need to create a waste gate duty cycle curve that starts off low at around 2500-3000 rpm, and slowly ramps up as the rpms increase. You'll also have to change the boost boost offset and tinker with the boost error correction tables...
