Did not save my immobilizer code and stock rom, now car won't start, HELP!!
 

I was trying to load an old ECUflash map Jestr gave me for my old evo9, and I was trying to load it up into my new evo9, but the problem is I forgot to save my stock rom image first (Dumb***). So now car won't start because the Jestr map has a different immobilizer code than my current evo9.

Please help me out on how to get the car back and running.

UPDATE after dealership visit:

So I had the car at the dealership today and the service writer told me that they tried to start the car in the morning when they first got the keys. The car surely did not start up, so they pushed the car into the service bay and tried started it again, and it STARTED!!

This is pretty weird, all I did before bring the car to the dealership is flashing my ecu to a generic stock evo9 rom that I downloaded from the Aktivematrix. The dealership wants to keep the car for a few more hours and ensure the car won't strangle again after I drove it away. I am a bit worried too since I will be parking the evo at the airport tonight for 3 days because I travel.

Any advice you guys can give me? Will the car fail to start again once I got back from my 3 day trip?

have to tow it to mitsu so they can put the correct immobilizer code on it, or if somehow mitsu can put the same immobilizer from the jestr tune onto your key, but i doubt that

So looks like towing the car back to dealership is the only choice?

Will the Ecu Unlocker software from MalibuJack work?

I don't know, i've never heard or used that software, but my best guess is yes, my buddy lost his immobilizer code and had to tow his car to dealership and they put the immobilizer code on the car

That would suck a big one, but I guess our evo come with virtually no warranty since we drove it off the dealer's lot:mitsu:

Yeah I just had the same problem recently but I didnt lose my immobilizer code. There isnt much you can do without your immobilizer code.

Well you only have 65,500 something combinations to go through. I can tell you a few it isnt to help shorten the time. But it looks like you learned a valuable life lesson here and a trip to the dealer.

The ECU unlocker is for something totally different as far as I am aware.

Indeed. Good thing this didn't happen when I was in the middle of nowhere. Being happened in my friend's apartment parking lot is bad enough....Lesson learned.

if you have your original keys there was a little metal piece attached to them... there is a number imprinted on it - I am assuming its got something todo with the immobilizer code...

are you able to read the ECU software (or firmware or whatever you call it)? I'm interested to see if you can just edit the software itself and just get around the immobilizer..doesn't seem too hard if you can flash your ECU already.

I cannot see how you can reset something that you do not have???

Remember! first thing you do with anything IT related BACKUP.

You would be better off loosening one of the turbo pipes and perhaps also loosen say the BCS and claim you broke down. That way they might over look you tampering with the ECU.

ECU Unlocker fixes the "Init Code" (in ECU Flash) and not the Immobilizer code.

Let us know how it goes with the Mitsubishi dealership.

sorry man, but im betting that is the only thing you can do.

Maybe get a stock ROM from here and flash it with that and take it to the dealership and tell them that you unhooked your battery to install a stereo and afterwards your car wont start. Tell them you talked to a couple people and they think that your ECU dropped its software or program. Maybe then you can at least keep the warranty
