Can't install Evoscan 2.1
Since my v.99 stopped working, I went and installed the v2.1 today, but when I tried to open it I get error messages. I did not pay the extra money but I can't even get to the screen where I enter my serial. Do I need to remove anything else other then uninstalling the evoscan program??

That's an odd error message. Usually that would come up if there was a hard bug in the code, but then other people should be seeing it as well. Corrupt exe maybe?
|
Did you uninstall .99 before trying the 2.1? If not uninstall reboot then try to reinstall 2.1
It might some protection since you did not pay for upgrade and had registered .99 version on there? I personally would pay the ten bucks then you could ask Hamish for help as well. Good luck |
why would an old version just stop working. im thinking its not evoscan at all and its his computer settings.
|
Actually .98 gave me the same message when I tried to open evoscan. I uninstalled evoscan and DL'd the new version. I am still having the same problem..Can someone tell me how to get rid of the leftover drivers and such so I can do a fresh install?? I appriciate everyones help!

Double checked .net framework, I'm running the latest ( just dl'd 2.0, 3.5, sp's ect.) as well as windows update. DL'd Evoscan twice, rebooted, ect. still no go..I need to get my car tuned before this weekend since I am planning on gong to the track.
I don't mind paying the 10 dollars or whatever either, just want to get this thing running. I even re installed v.98 and get the same problem It's a miracle I have not broken this laptop yet!! |
hey pete did you try to remove the directory in c:\program files?
if u can't get it to work, let me know- |
Nope, but it was always gone when I uninstalled it..I'll try it again..This sucks!
Isn't there something in the registry or drivers I need to wipe out for a fresh install? Trying to get the car ready to kick some subie or domestic arse this weekend!

Drivers/install is horked. Uninstall from the UI then Go registry surfing for EvoScan stuff, delete it all, delete the hard directory (if its still there) and then try install again.

This is a generic .NET error.
I would reinstall all the Frameworks and patches from www.windowsupdate.com and try again |
I've done it three times, tried .net framework 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 to no avail, up to date as far as windows update says too.
