Possibly a new mobile logger?
I came across this little Korean device called the GP2X that caught my eye... it's a handheld touchscreen linux PC, that is marketed as a game device.
They sell a USB host adapter (referred to as a commercial interface board) so I assume we could plug in an OpenPort cable and get some kind of logging going on. Price doesn't look too bad... $170 for the unit and $50 for the USB adapter, it's cheaper than many PDAs and certainly cheaper than a decent laptop Site: http://www.gp2x.com/ Store: http://www.gp2xstore.com/category_s/3.htm http://www.gp2x.com/img/F200.jpg http://www.gp2xstore.com/v/vspfiles/photos/003-2.jpg |
Wow that is sweet. Maybe someone can program it to be a real-time data display like a HKS CAMP.
Only set-back is we need linux drivers for the openport cable. |
another option-
the triple e is only around 3 or 4 bills, plus it soon will have a touch screen. |
I'm not a Wintel/Pocket PC fanboy, but there is an attraction to me of this platform given the maturity of the drivers, plus there are about five loggers already written in (VB).net - Evoscan, Mitsubishilogger, Innovate tester, Pocket PC logger, DMA PC logger.
There are two Atmel AT Mega AVR loggers as well - one in C, then I did one in Basic. I moved to .net (and had to learn it too) because I found I just made a lot more progress more quickly with the spec and flexibility of a Pocket PC. Another consideration are the various Nintendo GameBoys. |
Interesting. Can it be reprogrammed?

I want someone to write a logger and/or port ECUFlash to a PSP. It has a USB port (dunno if it has a host controller though) and there are plenty of dev kits for the PSP.
