Evoscan 2.1 and zeitronix WB

After pulling my hair out for a good half hour today trying to rid some knock, I decided to confirm that evoscan v2.1 was logging ther correct AFR's for my Zeitronix ZT2 wideband. Well, I tuned her down to 11.1-11.0 across the powerband in evoscan and still had knock issues with mild timing.....then I read the log on the Zeitronix software which was 12.1-12.0AFR! quite a difference! Jeesh.

Anyone have theirs logging exactly the same with the Zeitronix software/digital gauge and with v2.1??

Still using 2.0 Jamie, sorry man wish I could help. Sometimes Im slow to upgrade till all the bugs are worked out lol.

Just finished installing my ZT2, I'll do some logging and get back to you...

My Zeitronix logs exactly the same in both Evoscan 2.1 and Zeitronix program...

Did a quick log and my evoscan 2.1 logs .2-.5 afr higher than zeitronix logger v.2.0.11. Thanks for the heads up especially if you're tuning to the edge.

So which one would you say was accurate?

I personally would trust the software that comes with the wideband over the evoscan. I was tuning for around 11.5:1 with evoscan and was having serious issues. Well, tuning aggressively for 12.5:1 when you think its 11.5:1 would cause some issues, lol.

Did you guys notice this only under load or does it show a differance at closed loop idle as well? At idle I log exactly 14.7.

My closed loop operation is fine. I decided to just use the anaolg output wire and hook it up through the rear O2 sensor input since I'm using the Tephra v5 patch with MrFred's Rear O2 simulation. My AFR's is something I'd rather not second guess.

Jamie-

How'd that work out for you now??

Haven't done it yet. Been swamped with these EVO IX pin orders and making the ALT MAP Harness' :( Mayyyybe I can hook this up on my lunch break at work. I still gotta figure out the formula which works with the analog voltage.

The zeitronix ZT2 unit has two analog outputs, the white wire which ranges from 9.7-21.2AFR with a voltage range of 0.15-3.27 volts. They also have the option of changing the purple wire from a simulated narrowband output to an analog ouput which spans the entire 0-5v range from 9.6-19.6AFR for greater resolution.

The 0.15-3.27v white wire analog output will have roughly 158 increments (0.073 AFR per increment).

The 0.-5v purple wire analog output will have roughly 255 increments (0.040 AFR per increment).

I'm using the purple narrowband simulated output wire already for a leaner closed loop AFR so I'll use the white analog output wire. I'm happy with 0.1 AFR increments, so having 0.073 AFR increments is plenty :)

Take some time for yourself man... I know what its like to get so emerged in that kind of stuff you forgot whats really important in life...

Let me know which wire you end up using and how you go about connecting it. I'm wanting to do the same thing so I can just log everything through the Tactrix cable...

Cheers-
E

Dunno if this will help but this pdf has all of the voltages on Page 2

http://www.zeitronix.com/installatio...structions.pdf

Anyone notice the Evoscan has some weird numbers for the boost?

dryad001 May 6, 2008 05:39 PM

Analog Wideband Output (White Wire) Voltage vs AFR table
V 0.15 0.31 0.46 0.62 0.78 0.93 1.09 1.24 1.4 1.56 1.71 1.87 2.02 2.18
AFR 9.7 9.9 10.1 10.3 10.5 10.7 11.0 11.4 11.7 12.1 12.4 12.8 13.2 13.7
V 2.34 2.5 2.65 2.80 2.96 3 3.12 3.27
AFR 14.2 14.7 15.6 16.9 18.5 18.8 19.9 21.2

Or for you lazy people

Jack_of_Trades May 6, 2008 08:44 PM

I know the scaling...as does anyone with the instructions. Its the fact that the ECU may read a different voltage than the analog output. Plus, the formula for evoscan is most likely going to be custom tailored to match the Zeitronix AFR curve exactly. Thanks for helping though.

I assume you were referring to the zeitronix boost numbers correct?
