You can download ScanTech from Aktivematrix for free and be able to read and clear CEL's.

ScanTech works great. It's also show you the freezed frame when the code hapenned so you can use the info to analyze.

I can't seem to get scantech to connect. Is there anyone using it successfully with Vista? Or is there another program I can try?

it should work you should just make sure u select tactrix cable and the com port it is in. you can check the com port via the device manager from the control panel.

Yah, I did that. When I try to connect, it initializes and everything, but cannot connect for some reason. I read in another thread that it might have to do with old drivers the program was written for that are not the same in Vista, so that's why I was wondering if anyone else had gotten it to work.

i cant even get it to work. i dont know. i think im getting it from the right web sight. but after i download it and install it i goto open scantech and it says some weird code and that it might be missing files or some crap like that.

i am downloading it from here.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../untitled1.jpg

i then click the download tab you see and i am brought to a screen that tells me i have to except to download. which i do and then this window pops up. i tryed both ways to save or download and im brought to the same screen

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../untitled2.jpg

here is where im brought to this

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../untitled3.jpg

then i click the scantech and extract it to my c-programs file
in the mean time i have a scan tech folder that poped up on my desk top along with the winwar zip folder

now when i open the scan tech folder it opens winwar back up and then shows this inside

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../untitled4.jpg

now i have no clue what the hell to do from here. so i click where the blue line is. and i get this.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../untitled5.jpg

now its not saved anywhere. i dont know if this is it or not or if it will work.
i have tryed to extract this to my program files as well and then thats where i get this
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x.../untitled6.jpg

and thats hwere im at now. i must be doing something wrong. but i have tried for hours and hours and i cant get the damn thing to work. lol HEEEEEEEEELP im a retard

EvoDan2004 May 12, 2008 10:24 PM

wow i am dumb as dirt.... i got it to work. i was clicking the wrong thing in winwar. hehe. oops.

hehe anyone want to help me set it up????

oldevodude May 12, 2008 10:49 PM

Wel lfirst of all you need to extract ALL the files from what you see in winrar.

Select them all and extract to a folder you create then run setup.exe to install the program. When running Vista it will say about ten files already exist and you must say overwrite. after you are done installing you need to reboot then try to detect com port. As mentioned earlier you can look in device manager under ports to see what port number your tactrix cable is. go to setup in Scantech and select the correct port.

Good Luck hope this helps

i had a tough time with it but eventually got it to work and work it did
i got the screen after doing the setup where it listed like 4 possible errors

what i did differently was after i made the setting changes and accepted the changes, instead of auto detecting, i choose the green tick, first icon on top and it did its thing perfectly

my niggling p0125 again
thanks guys and hope this helps some of u out there

I have the scantech but for some reason it wasn't working for me. Gotta try it again sometime this week and see if works again.
