ECUFlash 1.38 cable fix.

1 Attachment(s)
Updated the super secret cable hack for ECUFlash 1.38. Same byte code, different address again. This time it was 0x0004091AF. I tried to install the new drivers, and guess what, they atleast work with evoscan now. So my current software status is ECUFlash 1.38 with latest bundled tactrix drivers, EVOScan 2.5, and Vista Home Prem SP1. Here is the link.

Thanks a bunch for this. My friend pointed me to this thread after I almost stabbed my laptop with my pocket knife in frustration.

Your "hacks" are definitely appreciated!

Thanks so much sir!

Okay, please help. I used the 1.38 hack and it appears to have run successfully. But it still fails to connect. It doesn't get past trying to shoot out the init code. Really need to flash it. This is the one last hurdle I have to complete before race weekend. I have 1.38.2080

FYI -
Just copy the ecuflash cable hack .exe to the folder where your ecuflash.exe is located and lauch the cable hack .exe which will launch EcuFlash automatically.

Yep, did that. Is there some way to install the correct drivers? When I plugged in the cable for the first time after upgrading to 1.38 I let it install the cable as usual.

I just used the drivers that are bundled with ecuflash. You can try to un-install the drivers. reboot, install them from C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\drivers\x86 and then do another reboot. Then plug the cable in and it should use the newest ones. If they dont work, i have a copy of old 1.29a drivers that work for sure.

Okay, I figured it out. Poor connection to the OBDII connector.

Sweet. Good to hear your back connected.

i got 1.38 cable hack.. installed in ecu flash folder... ECuflash still does not work.. EVoscan works fine.. Ecuflash keeps getting unknow error tactrix 1.3 cable. ecuflash version 1.38

Show me a screen shot please.

greek_evoVI Sep 26, 2008 01:04 PM

it works nicely...
you must extract the hack to the 1.38folder and use this new icon to open the ecuflash...its not like the 1.35hack that needs to be opened separately from the ecuflash app

It isn't evident in this discussion as to just what this hack is and under what circumstances it would be necessary.

Someone please explain briefly.
