1.29 works, 1.41 doesn't (1.3 cable)
 

The title puts it succinctly:
ECUFlash 1.29 connects to my 1.3 cable fine, reads the ECU
ECUFlash 1.41 won't connect to the ECU

Same PC, same cable, both 1.29 and 1.41 installed at the same time.

Searched, but couldn't find an explanation / solution. What am I missing?

1.41 wants to see updated firmware on the older cable. Colby started doing this to migrate to the newer cables and support the newer CAN bus etc IIRC. Maybe a business decision too.

You can send it back in and have him update the firmware. IIRc there may be a link on the Tactrix website to update it as well.

I never bothered going past 1.38, works fine for me as does 1.31-> 1.34

1.29 is the one with the least problems. Just stick with it.

I was under the impression that colby could update your firmware over email... rather than sending the cable back...

im running 1.41 on my laptop using the 1.3 cable and have no problems reading or writing my ecu

I'd like to use the 1.41 .xml files and the endianness appears to be wrong if used with 1.29

Business, like getting everyone to update to a new cable?

I don't want to be without my cable for some indeterminate amount of time. I'll go search to see if there's a way to update. If anyone has a pointer, I'd appreciate it.

Hey did you ever sort out your update problem with the 1.3 cable trying to connect to V1.41? I too have the same problem and have been emailing and calling tactrix with no success.
