Idle Stability Control Table Q's

1 Attachment(s)

The Idle stability control is this.....

<table name="Idle Stability Timing Control" category="Timing" address="174e" type="2D" level="2" scaling="uint16">
<table name="Settings" type="Static X Axis" elements="3">
<data>Sensitivity</data>
<data>Timing Limit</data>
<data>Untested</data>
</table>
</table>
Ok, so in my timing map I have 0~1000k RPM and 0~50 load set at 11*.
I have the Idle Stability table set to 148 sensitivity and 8* by 8*.

Can somone please explain the Idle Stability Table, mostly refrencing the timing control fields. Timing Limit and Untested are the two fields that are a little confusing. I guess i see that having both set to different degree's could be confusing to the ECU, or are they unrelated?

Heres a screen shot;

Thanks in advance

I noticed that the first timing (not the unknown one) does limit the timing fluctuation if you reduce the number. In doing so I also discoverd that my car did not respond well to the change.

From what I can tell this is the amount of timing that can be added or subtraced to maintain a stable idle. I leave it at 8.

As for the sensitivity, I noticed that anything over 150 seems to cause problems with idle. I set mine at 146.

Wish I could do more, but I just test the stuff to see how it works. Your idle will stablize a tad better with a sensitivity number around 145ish.

Just out of curiosity, is there a table like this for 88590015? Sounds somewhat useful at times :)

I've searched and can't find the def's anywhere...

can't believe only one good response to the topic, please share if you know what this table does.

I had problem with idle when AC ON, my timing limit was at 4, i raise back to 8 and idle normal again

Its quite simple really:

The first parameter is the sensitivity, so a value of 150 for instance will result in 1.5 degrees spark change for a 10 rpm idle error.

The second parameter is the Delta Timing Limit, ie the maximum the control function can swing the idle timing (+/- degrees) to maintain correct idle rpm.

The third parameter is spark related but is not related to idle, it remains an unknown at this point. It may not even get called and thus could be a legacy item, the rom has many of these.
