logging works, but can't read/write...

Switched a friend to Tephra 5.1 last night who wanted the flash CEL on knock and a couple other things. After I flashed the Tephra rom, I tried to write a couple small changes and it failed half way through a write, the error said retry the write. I did, and after that I got the error right at the beginning of when it starts the process, no response to any known codes after "sending init sequence" msgs.

One thing I did that I thought might have been a bit sketchy, is that I along with things like fuel and timing from my friends old map, I copied and pasted the entire MUT table from his previous rom to the Tephra 5.1 rom. I was unsure of copying and pasting was ok for that kind of table. Could that have caused the problem?

Battery voltage at idle for his car was 12.6 which I thought should be plenty to flash, not sure though. I also tried my friends OP2.0 cable and no luck.

Any suggestions?

Also, are all Evo 9 ecu's the same hardware wise? Meaning could I use an RS or GT ECU with a GSR? I'd like to try an ECU swap if we don't have any luck.

Forgot to add it's a JDM Evo 9 GSR and I use EcuFlash 1.42 with OP2.0.. rev C I think.

have you tried flashing with the unlocker? Is the pig-tail OBDI cable plugged in?

Have not tried the unlocker.. could you tell me how that works? I've never had to use it.

Also yes I triple checked the pig tail and also used a friends OP2.0 cable just to see if it was a cable problem.

you can find it on activematrix. It basically forces a read or write. I would suggest trying to force a read before attempting a write.

Do I need to be running EcuFlash 1.28 as the program says when I run it?

i dont believe so, i am pretty sure i have run it on 1.42. Again, i would try a read first.
