H8 ECU Mods for 3000GT

Hey guys! I'm looking to take the 3000GT platform into the same realm the EVO & DSM guys get to enjoy with the Tephra/Ceddy mods. For the last year I've been slowly disassembling one of the 3000GT ROMs and have made some significant progress on it. My 99VR4 is running 560 EVO injectors with an EVO MAF & EVOX MAP sensor which is now being used by the stock Boost Control subs to make corrections (much like MrFreds PSI based boost control). I even have the stock boost gauge referencing the MAP sensor as well as the ability to switch it to display just about any parameter I choose. I can change some of the safety limitations like fuel cut, rev limit, fuel trims...

It's time to take this to the next level and implement things like launch control, NLTS as well as knock check engine light but these kinds of mods are beyond me at this point. Kind of at a loss of where to begin and would appreciate any input or links which could point me in the right direction to tackling this project.

I've been using IDApro for disassembly so I'm guessing some kind of compiler is needed to create a new bin file?

:helpme:

Post up what you have and we can see what relates to what we already know.

Sounds cool and nice to see that platform get some love.

We'd be here all night. :p

Ceddy's maps of the DSM H8 ECUs were a great help.

The logic in the 3/S code is very similar to that. Unfortunately, there's isn't much room in memory so free space is limited. 13BB1-13FFF is all the free space I have to play with. It'd be interesting to find a ROM for a Galant VR4 and see if it's a smaller file since there are no emissions for that vehicle.

Some things that helped a lot too was the MUT table in the 3/S code seems to be very similar to the EVO as well. Even though the RAM addresses within the MUT are different, it was interesting to find out that EVOScan was able to log many of the parameters. It helped me find what many of the SUBs in the 3/S code do.

There seems to be multiple copies of tables like in the EVO as well.

Hmm interesting. I am not much on disassembly but there is a lot I understand how it relates. Hit me up if you need :)

lets get a bump for this spread the word to mods and the evo gurus as they might shine some light on this subject i am also doing the swap for a 94 3000gt vr4 to a 99 SL ecu swap with vr4 chromed ROM and looking forward to more updates.

Ceddy hasn't done much with the DSM platform and has all but vanished from Tuners... Rumor is that he has been concentrating on the 3000gt platform. You might be able to get a hold of him on his site or on 3Si.org to see what he is up to.
