Cam lope on VIII

Hi guys, I was about to buy GSC S1 but they won't be in stock anywhere soon. I'm reconsidering the S2, but first I need some info from tuners that have experience playing with S2 on VIII.

I know VIII S2 will lope pretty hard, and I know it would be possible to dial this out if had MIVEC (:crap:).

I plan to idle at: OL 13,5 AFR , 14-15* timing.
Here is my question: With these settings, at about which RPM they start to idle smooth/without loping ??

I just don't want to idle @ 1500 RPM ;)

i've got a 05 evo 8 with s3's and idle at 1100rpm with zero issues. Have never even come remotely close to stalling out.

They have no lope? Idle like stock?

They lope, not super crazy though. Have you looked on youtube to see how both of these cams lope?

Yeah I looked S2 and they seem to always lope. But we don't know what's the tuning for each car..

We? Who's going to be tuning your car? Because how they sound and perform will all depend on the tune.

I'm the tuner. I said "we" because I'm a french canadian with poor english, and I meant that for each youtube video with a S2 VIII, AFR/TIMING/RPM is unknown. So it remains unclear at which RPM you start to idle smooth.

The question was "At which RPM lope stops when other parameters are maxed (rich idle AFR, strong idle timing)"

I'll post a vid of mine tomorrow.
Idling at 15* timing, ~1000rpm, closed loop (14.7).

That's how I setup most of the S2's I tune on non-mivec cars, slight lope but its sporadic, rather than consistent.

Nice, so there's still room in AFR to smooth out things.

Yeah definately.
I don't like lope in my idle either, however I also don't really like idling above 1100-1200 if I can avoid it.

Your english is fine dude, don't worry about it. I don't tune my car but I idle at 1100rpm, with an afr of 14.6-15.2 and as far as timing I have no idea. I would have to look at the rom, and that doesn't mean I would even know what to look for. I would say at about 1500rpm the lope goes away. Remember I have s3's, and there huge cams lol

Did you modify any of the ISCV table values? If you did would you mind sharing them?
