Tuning for FIC 850 injectors
I wanted to get some feedback from the community on this tuning I'm doing, and I'm on a somewhat crunched time frame, so any and all info is welcome!
Quick story: I had some goals to race my evo 8 at the shootout in Ohio this year. Most of which never materialized. But long story short I got some fuel upgrades (255 walbro and FIC 850's). I'm running basically stock everything, just exhaust, air filter, boost controller, tuning and fuel. So I finally got my injectors in the car over the weekend and got it to idle and drive ok. From what I read on the interwebs, the scaling for these should be around 770. When I set it to that, the car would barely idle and AFR was super lean (18:1+). So I set it to like 696 and it idled. Fuel trims were like 9-12. I have it set now to 665 and fuel trims are closer to 5-6. Now this seems to be MUCH lower than what is expected from these injectors. I set the latency as follows: 4.96V -- 3.312 7.03V -- 1.680 9.38V -- 1.032 11.72V -- 0.840 14.06V -- 0.552 16.41V -- 0.456 18.68V -- 0.360 Also as some background info, running stock injectors, fuel trims were between 0 and +1, so they were on point. No other changes have been made to the flash. I want to get this a decent tune before I head to Ohio. I know I'll have a few passes on Friday night at the test and tune to get the tune more on point, but I want a good solid starting point for when I get there. So what do you guys think? Why is my scaling so low to get good fuel trims??? |
Thanks to rich3389 for sending me a PM with his ecuflash settings. My car's fuel trims are next to 0 with these settings! So anyone who has FIC 850 injectors, use these settings below!!
Scaling = 770 4.96V -- 3.48 7.03V -- 1.92 9.38V -- 1.68 11.72V -- 1.008 14.06V -- 0.768 16.41V -- 0.600 18.68V -- 0.456 |
nice. did you leave the scaling at 665?
|
Nope, I set the scaling to 770
