Can't open ROM, XML file is present
 

My car was tuned by the previous owner. I was able to download the ROM with ID 96940011 and have the .XML file but it will not open in ECUFlash.

I changed the ROM ID to 88590015 using a hex editor and was able to open the file. Is there a specific reason it would not open with the previous ROM ID?

Any idea why the ecu would be flashed with this ID? The car is a 2006 USDM Evo9 MR not a 2005. I have attached the original file as a reference.

It is the default .xml that comes with the latest version of Ecuflash.

well it looks like after changing it like you did that the tables are correct and that it has the mivec tables too.
tune wise i'm not going to comment but injector scaling looks interesting. smaller injectors?

i guess the tuner changed the id to throw people off? he chose a good one since ecuflash doesn't have default definitions for this ID heh

The car has the stock injectors. Possible its not the correct .xml file so it is displaying lower than the stock value.

My version of ecuflash does have an xml file for 96940011 but the rom file does not open when trying to use it.

scaling for the injectors is correct.
