Open Loop Idle Update:

I got the car to idle in open loop with no ill effects.

It holds a steady idle at 854 rpm & barely noticeable (it hiccups every once in a while) that i have some pretty big comp 280's. With the AC on it hold idle @ 933 rpm without a problem.

Idle is set to 852, target AF 13.4, 25 degrees advance.

Thanks,

but i did purposely leave out alot of important information such as ISCV values, Idle Step Look-up table settings, and more importantly how to make it idle in open loop.

Well, better than nothing at all.

That is how I got my car to idle well with ECU+, looking forward to more control with ECUflash.

Like I said, its best to try to get the car to function within closed loop if possible.. I'm really really surprised you had trouble, since my car idles perfectly with 280's in closed loop.. However bigger injectors and turbos do also have an even greater effect on it.

When my car is cold with AC/ON my car almost shuts down, GT35 / 880cc GSC 272in/264ex when it warms up it goes back to normal 950rpm AC/ON, I was flashed for 880's 2 weeks ago driveablity is perfect but I still have that small issue when the car is cold Is there anything I can do to correct this situation?

monitor your fuel trims on startup.

Will do its a good thing i still have the good ol pocketlogger heh

However if i make fuel adjustments on idle wouldnt affect it also after warmup? I get problems before warmup. With A/C on it happened right after installing the GT35 i'll monitor fuel trims tonight thanks

On cold startup the car should run in open loop mode. Most of the time(I hesitate to say "all") when I'm watching my OBDII logger, the fuel trims go to zero(0) when the car transitions to open loop mode. I'm not positive about the fuel trim when in cold startup mode. I'll try to remember to check it out.

Fuel trims should affect cold idle before the car goes into closed loop.. But its likely the map at that point is really rich, or really lean and probably needs a little adjustment..

There are some coolant temp compensation features, but those tables/definitions have not been published yet.. And thats likely where you'd have to make your adjustment.. You could look at the current Air Temp Compensation table, but that may not be the correct answer to solve your issue.

FWIW, I had a similar idle problem when I rescaled the settings in my MAF sensor (on my electronic box, not the ECU) where the MAF reading was 30hz at cold idle at around 750rpm, on cold start it would tend to run very lean until the car went into closed loop.. Subsequently on a restart (Coolant temp already higher than a cold start) the car didn't start and idle lean.. I resolved it by raising my MAF output reading to 43hz at idle with 280 cams and it went away.. I hope this info is helpful, use the MAF reading as a reference, but this was with stock injectors...

Oh and I completely forgot my point.. For the time being, you could adjust your fuel map so your fuel trims are as close to 0% at idle as possible, that should let the car start and idle when cold easier..
