it works on my desktop machines however my notebook is a different story. when I connect the cable it prompts for driver install and I do so, it sez successfuly installed then it recognizes my usb ports as new hardware to be installed and the software gives me the error loading FTD2XX.DLL message again and wont let be pull my rom from the car
kinda seems like a conflict or somthing
Help please if ya can, its a long way from my desk to my car
ps once the drivers are installed on my desktops the error is gone with or without the cable connected

I deleated the open ecu folder, and uninstalled the device open port 1.3 mitsubishi in the hardware manager under the drivers tab, then attached the cable to the computer and when the hardware intall wizard poped up i hit cancel. Then i installed the 1.27 with the cable connected and it worked perfectly, just had to select the port under options. however the ftd error was gone when I opened the program the first time before I selected the port

As soon as I plugged the cable in - the "found new hardware" wizard popped up.
So, you need to have the cable plugged in - in order to run the software correctly for the first time. Once you do that - the cable doesn't have to be plugged in.
