Vboy, were you a bit tipsy when you wrote this? Why do you keep saying "knowest"?

I noticed some others had this same issue, and it was either they didn't overwrite the rommetadata files that MalibuJack posted, or they didn't have their options>options>user>user level set to Advanced. It's in one of the threads below...

Jack and Coke is my favorite vice..

Anyway, I have to talk to Jason, but there should be another swarm of rom definitions to be released soon.. I really need access to some more difficult to find settings to get things "just right" in my car.. These settings are things like Closed loop AFR target table, and other calibration items.. I hope they have gotten through them because its one of the only ways to get big cams to be happy with big injectors at idle..

if the RPM values are wrong, then its pointing to the wrong location for the RPM table, Usually that means the definition loaded for your ECU is either inherited from a different one, or it detected a different one, and the information is incorrect.

Every so often, when a new rom flash is released, they compile the code and the data segments shift, thats when the addresses are off, but the good news is all of those major changes usually have an updated Internal ECU ID.. If you send that ID (and your stock Rom file if you have it) to Jason at Mynes, he can add it to his list of definitions that the poor guy has to revise.

I wish I could help, but I'm not currently sure what to look for in the rom files until I get more variants of firmware and can disassemble the code (so I can tell the difference between code segments and data segments.)

There are other good things on the horizon..

Besides Colby and Jason feverishly working on the Evo 9 flash upload, Jason is starting to investigate the code involved in the ECU OBD-II error codes, thresholds, table, and how to manipulate them.

We worked through this yesterday.. Anyway, there are some missing definitions in the Rom version on Vboy's car (and several other roms) which show up as greyed out as their undefined.. Everyone who has had a problem and mentioned it to me, has probably forwarded a copy of their rom to Jason or Colby so they can either find the missing data, or create a new definition for a new rom.

Since I haven't spoken to Jason in awhile, I don't have any new information on new definitions or other releases.. Though I did see a blurb that Colby may release a new version of ECUFlash with many of the fixed definition files. They really should post the Updates "Definition files, and updated metadata or whatever other data files" as a separate zip file..

I made the changes and posted a XML file to fix this problem here:

http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?p=4786

The fix will also make it into the next release if you don't need it right away.
