Actually it is true two-step, it's not a true anti-lag setup

Keep in mind that boost pressure will vary depending on which turbocharger you have. We are sitting our RPM a bit higher than 6K with the 20G turbo on the shop car. With a larger turbo you may even want to bump it higher. The 60' times are awesome but it is quite hard on the clutch! Our Gruppe-S Flash puts the limit in the low 6000's for stages 1/2 and higher for Stage 3 (GT3071)

Cheers,

Gary

The anti-lag is a given.. I managed to put two thoughts together in the same sentence and may have been construed wrong.. I didn't mean in any way that the EVO had an anti-lag system for the US model, and the JDM/EUDM model has a Lean Spool system..

However, I looked up the two-step definition, and according to the current popular documentation, you are correct, the Evo's ECU does qualify as a two-step..

But my old drag race days, I had a two-step rev limiter which would step between two limits a few hundred RPM apart so you can stage for a long time..

while were on the subject... how long is too long to sit on the two step?

I've noticed the longer I sit the more boost builds but also my A/F goes in the very high teens.

You shouldn't do it very long.. It wreaks havoc on the exhaust temps and coolant temps.. When you bracket or heads up race competatively you would occasionally get people who will play headgames while staging so you have to be ready... In reality, you should only do it long enough to quickly stage and launch..
