Tuned by George @ P&L

I borrowed the cable from a fellow board member BrianH here in the Midwest. Fist of all I need to thank him for all his help, he has always been kind to me and quite generous to say the least.

George is a renowned Subaru tuner here in Chicago and has a lot of knowledge and experience tuning cars in general. He was able to determine where I was in the load cells using the Utec to read timing as a reference. Although it would make the tuneing process easyer and faster if there was some sort of real time load reference and logging through ECUflash. He scaled my injectors to 713 I will post screen shots and a log from my Utec as well. He added columns to the fuel and timing map as a posed to calibrating the maf which it seems others here were doing/ I am by no means a professional tuner so I hope that made sense!?! At any rate I have been using Utec for about a month and I hated it! Drivability went to ****, I couldn't rev match the way I wanted and I was having some transitional issues as well. But forget about UTEC this flash is infinitely smoother and the car drives like brand knew even with the big injectors and 272's.

George managed to keep my AFR's safe and the tune was a relatively conservative. I am more of a road racer than a straight line guy so I was willing to sacrifice some HP for safety. I flashed it for 100 octane only so I can’t run 93 which I requested because I think I will use the UTEC for my day to day and essentially set it to stock mode when I visit the track. One advantage of the Utec as I see it is that I still have an ability to log but of course I will disregard the load columns. I am still able to shut off my CEL's with it and use my CEL as a knock warning light at this point, but I am sure it won’t knock!!!

I must say that this friggin car hauls now and I have all my precious drivability back, I put it through it's paces yesterday and no knock, beautiful revmatches and no hesitation or missing!!! I’m in love with my car again, it drives like a stock car until I get on it...

Yes! ECUFlash is very good and consistent. I have my gt35r retuned with it and make the most gain compared to previous tunes with safc and ecu+. So far I didn't get any code yet. Enjoy your car. ECUFlash rock.

what were your base numbers to start off with?
those numbers seem pretty low for those mods with that amount of boost? have you been to the track lately?

Didnt get any base because i was not getting enough fuel in the system, i installed the injectors and fuel rail right before it went on the dyno. You can see its a pretty conservative AFR though. There is still power on the table.

That seems to be pretty lean.. Where was the AFR measured from? Tailpipe?

Yes the tail pipe. Bear in mind this is 100octane. Another evo on 100octane was tuned more agressivly with an AFR in the 12's.

The timing looks a pretty consevative for 100 octane, if the boost and fuel look alright i bet you could run that map on 93

seems kinda low also to me,

we have made 290whp and 310 wtq on a mustang dyno on a stock motor car, at 21psi with turboback and fmic

how are you running out of fuel with a walbro & 990cc injectors, yet making only 323tq?

I agree with the statement above, that A/F seems pretty lean, even though its 100oct. I originally tried to run my car that lean (on just 93pump) and made less power then when the A/F was in the mid-high 10s. In both cases the car didn't pull timing. I think these engines just like to be RICH.

Im sorry i didnt have any runs at 100octane with the new injectors before the 15th because i was on stock injectors and stock fuel rail. My head was flowing well and i was @ 95%+/- injector duty cycle @ 18PSI, but that was on 93 octane and before ECUflash, i was still using the Utec. I put down 280ish whp but i consider those runs void because of the octane difference for comparision sake. With the ECUflash we made baby steps only starting off reving to 4K and slowly adjusting and moving up the RMP range as we went. Thats why i dont have any other "base runs". But for reference a stock STI puts down 240ish.
