Knock question

Here is a link to an xls I made from evoscan with only the time I showed knock. This excerpt was out of about 7000 samples and wasn't all together like it is in this file. My car is a bone stock IX MR except for this newly applied e-flash. The high and low oct fuel maps are the same as well. What exactly needs to be done to tune out the knock at these rpm's and timing?

Here is the full csv file:

Most of the knock counts in that log were at part throttle. As far as the WOT run went, it was pretty short, but it looked like knock counts were increasing as RPM was climbing. It's pretty hard to say what you would need to do without knowing the timing maps. Although as an educated guess, I'd say that you will probably need to adjust the timing across a pretty good portion of the tune. You may want to consider the following:

1.) load your stock maps back into your ECU and log repeated WOT pulls in varying conditions (flat, uphill, downhill, hot, cold, etc.) ... take a couple of days if you need to. That should give you a good baseline on your stock car and tune.

IF you get clean runs with the stock maps, then:

2.) reload the aftermarket map and do one (1) WOT pull. You may want to take the precaution of pulling some timing out of your low octane maps (better safe than sorry). Look at the logs. If you're still getting pulled timing, go back to stock and think about getting a custom tune.

Thanks. I did some pulls with the base map this evening and over about the same number of samples all i got were a couple of 1's and 2's, much much better. I will do as you suggested tomorrow and compare the different results to see what I have.
