"hanging RPM's" and ISCV maps

In regards to the point Malibu Jack made about the "hanging" rpms in post 04 Evo's, and the ISCV maping....

This is a 2003/2004 ISCV map...

This is a 2005 Evo ISCV map (06 IX is the same as 05).....

Sorry to start a new thread, but the other was closed.

Have you cross polinated them yet to see if the hanging rpm over rev goes away?

You could try the 03 data.. But from looking at it, it might not make much of a difference.. It looks like the 03 table may open the stepper settings even more under slightly higher load..

It can't hurt to try it..

No, not yet. I may try them this weekend if I get time.

So what do these ISCV maps do exactly and how would it relate to "hanging revs?" It looks like these tables only relate to very low RPMS. Isn't the hanging revs problem related to the way the Ecu holds open the idle-air control valve after abruptly getting off the throttle? It's probably attempting to not spew a bunch of unburned fuel out of the exhaust.

While I'm at it, does anyone know what all the IC Relay stuff is under "Misc?" Does IC mean Inter-Cooler, or Idle-Control or something else?

Girlie, do you run higher-than-stock idle RPM targets?

No, they should be stock. "I" never changed them.

that is not where you control the haning RPM.
change the "desired ISCV initial step position with AC ......" tables.
I changed mine somewhat similiar to 03 setting. it works well.
for example:
"desired ISCV initial step position with AC off drive" engine temp = 77 -> 30
