AFRs, Low RPM, High Load ??

Hey folks, I have read that in the low RPM / High load region that folks like to run lean to help spool up. My question is how much knock do folks see in this area? Is it better to have reduced timing or run rich w/ some timing?

I did a few pulls in 6th gear from like 2000 RPM and saw a fair amount of knock. I was hitting 250/ 260 / 270 from 2000 up past 5000 RPM ( I had to let off because it was getting a little unsafe for the street)....I know that I would never really do this in 'normal driving', but it made me question strategy -- run rich in that area or pull timing....Thoughts / recommendations???

you have a very fast spooling turbo if what you say is true..
typical loadsite you mention is closer to 3500rpm and not 2000

I run 13's before peak boost egt's around 1600+
at peak boost its around 11.9 ..

If you never do this in normal driving, why are you doing it?

This is why you tune for a specific gear.
