Good Day all (newbie here), I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but, here goes. I have an evo 5 rs and had someone assist me some years ago to tune it using an evo 8 ecu and patch cable. It worked ok. However I am attempting to do some tuning for myself and noticed that my ROM ID is 99270000 and I am not able to find the MUT load 2 byte address for this rom.

I read that some people replaced this ROM with 96530006, unfortunately the car does not start. Is there a step by step guide to assist me with this ROM change?

Thanks

hi wxfede, yes you should get an openport 1.3U (with pin9) it does subaru and mitsubishi reflashing between 2001 and 2006 models. the ecuflash software is free, you can download it on the link below. or you can get the openport 2.0 it does a wider range of vehicles including EvoX up to 2014, but is more expensive.

Hi bugs1011,

all the MUT load 2 byte addresses, are listed on this webpage, if you happen to find it, then please do update the webpage using the edit button, so that everyone can benefit from the addresses you find: Mitsubishi Roms & XML Database www.evoscan.com/roms/mitsubishi

Cheers,
Hamish.

I asked this because I'm looking for a tool that will allow me only to read and write encrypted files (like a slave instrument).

omni 4 bar & wastegate solenoid / ecu controlled boost

I'm getting ready to have my car e-tuned and the tuner suggested I invest in a boost control solenoid & an omni 4bar for easier e-tuning. I am running a 96530006 Tephra ROM which loads the evo7base XML in ECU Flash.

The questions I have are:

1) How do I add the mapping for the Omni 4 Bar MAP sensor in ECU Flash? I've searched and can't find anyone who has used the 4 bar on my ROM. Do I have to get a different ROM, and if so, how do I know what's compatible and then copy my existing tunes (pump/race) over?

2) How do I add mapping for the 3 port boost solenoid I've purchased. Will that need to be mapped in ECU Flash? It's a plug-n-play to the original sensor connection. I'll need more tables in EvoScan too, right?

Thanks for your input.

Incorrect Numbers

Hey Im giving tuning a try as well. I'm good at working on car mechanically but this computer tuning does scare me a bit. My problem right now with my 2010 ralliart sportback is running a post pill and gst map. I am running into 2 problems right away.

1. When I log in evoscan my boost numbers are all negative somewhere around -8. Anyone know whats going wrong? also what should I be looking for as far as overboost in a ralliart?

2. on my WOT runs my TPS maxes out at 87. Is there something wrong with the formula in the program or something wrong with the car you think?

3. I am logging under the "Mode23 2010 USA MR/Lancer RA EVOX" ECU. Is that correct?

I am reading Merlin's Tuning guide anyone else have a good resource for me?

Bought a used evo ix, engine blew up and im thinking it may be tuned related...

With that said can I buy a cable(which one do I need?) and flash it stock? Are there base tunes available for download?

The car is catless, MAP o2 housing, catback and air box delete/k&n filter. I need a tune for when I get my new engine in. Am I better off towing it to a tuner? STM is around an hour away.

Use 2 byte rpm.

Which rom are you using?

9417:
MUT 02 = 893A
MUT 03 = 893B

9653:
MUT 02 = 8962
MUT 03 = 8963

These go in your MUT table. LMK if you need any help.

I am using 9417.
Does that mean all I would need to do is change the MUT address you listed above? or do I need to modify xml's....etc?
Thanks

Just change your MUT table on your rom. The definitions are already in place to view your MUT table (assuming) in ECUFlash. The definitions in Evoscan should already be there for 2byte rpm.

Flash rom to car, log 2byte rpm, report back.

I am getting ready for my first logging for my first tune. I have been reading up on https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...-tune-evo.html of what is required to tune. I just want to make sure I am understanding it correctly.

I hook up the evoscan cable, log the data with some 3rd/4th gear pulls. I then put my mods in and then get the numbers to closely match the current tune?

Current tune was done by RRE for my current mods. When changing to my new mods (1050cc injectors, HKS cams, and test pipe) I will try and match the current map assuming it isn't knocking badly?
