E85 flex fuel switch on the fly

How hard would it be to make a system that would let us run E85 as a different fuel map with something like a switch.

http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/ex...bleswitch.html

Or

Better yet a GM flex fuel sensor.

http://www.megamanual.com/flexfuel.htm

On my Honda i have Hondata's old stage system and i have to put a new map into the ECU every time i switch fuel which is a pain for a car that is daily driven.

very difficult.

first you need the ability for the ECU to switch maps "on the fly" so to speak, like what is mentioned here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=261072

then you need (and this is the hard part) to figure out how to find an empty pinout on the ECU so you can attach said flex fuel sensor.

Once you have all that connected, then you need to figure out how to reprogram the ECU to work with the new sensor.

Once that is working you would have to be nice and port this solution to all the other versions of this ECU used in the EVO 7,8,9,....

There are people investigating this, but there is no short term solution yet.

I bet you could do it with something like utec.

A standalone that will allow you to switch maps on a toggle.

Check Aktivematrix, there is an active discussion and some actual progress on something that would actually work using a GM Fuel composition sensor and the stock ECU.
