boost spike

Hello.
here is the my settings

i get boost spike upto 1.6bar and drops/holding to 1.4bar till redline.

how can I get rid of boost spike?
i've played with BDEL, WGDC, BCLO without any luck(more unstable boost).

if you guys have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks.

btw, my car is 2003, 3inch turbo back, 272/272, evo9 turbo with 10.5/invidia o2 housing, HKS DLIII, fuel pump.

can i just disable lean spool just by changing antilag start/stop value, as mentioned in option 2?

Did you use Bryans way of tuning your boost, described here (post #4)

http://www.norcalevo.net/forum/index...html#msg254039

Also I bet your hitting load higher then 230 (145+85)

Yes, but you'll want to change the address to "1684". You should then see "7000" when go to the Anti-lag stop setting after modifying the address. Change it to 2500.

thanks for the reply.
i started by zero-ing out correction factor, play with WGDC to achieve 1.4 bar boost. it was oscilatting btwn 1.4-1.3, no way i could get flat(i mean FLAT) 1.4 bar all the way.

then i logged in third gear while correction factor is off, trying to get load. then i modified off set and desired engine load offset, close to the load i got from 3rd gear pull.

what do you mean i am hitting higer than 230? should i decrease engine load where i peak?

well sounds like you did it the way Byran said to.

Usually a EVO with your mods will hit more then 230 load, thats why I said that.
Your desired load+offset should be the load your trying to hit.

you are right! i am hitting more than 230 load!!! duh....
so, i am trying to fix the table to match my load, but don't know whether i should raise the offset and lower BDEL or leave offset to 85 and raise BDEL. already wrote long msg in norcalevo for Bryan.
hope i will get steady boost...
cross my fingers...

I've got a basic question for Evokid or anyone else here with electrical knowledge. I have an AEM truboost gauge / controller setup that I'm not using for boost control right now ( went back to stock bcs due to excessive spike/taper). Anyhow the AEM solenoid looks to be a good part and I would like to replace my stock solenoid with it. I measured the resistance with my multimeter and the stock solenoid measured 35 ohm while the AEM measured 14ohm. What size resistor do I need to match the Evo ECU's solenoid driver? 20ohm 1 watt? Also has anyone been able to source the factory electrical connector?

I went on the hunt for that connector awhile back. I spoke with Sumitomo, the company who makes the BCS female plug. Unfortunatly, they have the female plug but they do not make a male side of it as it is part of the BCS itself.

It could be made if somebody plunked down the cost of a mold and retool or whatever but I don't think it would be cheap.

You need to adjust the error correction. Like others have said you are probably hitting over 230 load the the error correction is pulling it down. Try setting up your BDEL to peak at 250 and drop down to 220 at 7000 with most of the tapper starting after 5500 rpm.

Here's a cheap alternitive to ordering the pigtail. Just go to a Junkyard w/domestics and find a late model GM and get the pigtail off of the egr valve or the windshield washer resoiver pump. I got mine off of a late 90's blazer

Quick question. when soldering in the resistor the gold band is away from the plug(solenoid side)? or does it matter?
thanks,
ed
