The maps are now missing from the first page.

Nevermind they work now

Thanks for doing this!!! I've learned a lot and have the confidence to tune my own car. Like you said the learning curve is big, but worth it.

I've set the boost limits on my 03 evo 8 the same increments as yours and it seems so puny compared to the evo 9. I've searched for others evo 8 boost limit settings and came up without any results. Is it safe to keep upping the boost limits until I see knock then back down a little?

Isace, what do you mean by boost limits?

That's what I thought you were talking about - Raising that boost limit won't change your boost at all. It's only the load at which boost cut will kick in. It's to prevent overboost, not increase boost.

I understand that. I'm assuming that I'm tapering off at 4000 RPM because at peak load (270 2byte load) boost cut is happening because the limit is set at 255. Is it possible to keep 21lbs or close to it through redline?

if you're hitting boost cut, it'll feel like you're hitting a wall. If it's just tappering off, that's not it.

It's hard to change your boost curve with a MBC. That's why people use EBC's/ECU-based boost control. If you want 21lbs from peak boost all the way to redline, an MBC won't do it for you.

Thanks for the advice. It doesn't feel like I hit a wall. I looked up your Grimmspeed BCS and I like the descrip. How do you like yours?

Simply put, I love it. I've got it setup to hold 21-ish psi from 3500 all the way to 7k, when I get new injectors in I'll go up to maybe 22-23 all the way to redline. You can have your boost curve exactly how you want it with ECU-based boost control.

Awesome writeup, I've been looking in to Tuning recently & while this isn't specific to a N/A GTS, the methods described are an incredible help.

I have an AEM wideband installed on my car.

Is there a way I can get my wideband reading to go to my laptop, or do I just have to watch my wideband while I go WOT to see what I am holding.

You have to make or buy a AEM serial cable.

Thank you!

I found a bunch of write ups on how to make the cable on here and other forums, but I have not found a place that actually sells the cable. I looked on AEMs site but didn't find it either.

Does anyone make one I can just buy?

I found this one on E-Bay. It comes with everything you need all you have to do is connect the two wires to the wires from your wideband. There are also directions on how to make this in the instrutions that came with your wideband. This one looks like it will work pretty good but it's also costs a little more. You can actually make this yourself pretty easily for a lot less. Just get the serial port parts from Radio Shack for like $5 and then get a USB to Serial cable or adapter off of E-bay ($3-$10) and you'll be good to go. Personally I got the female serial port (crimp style) from Radio Shack for like $3 and then just the adapter off of E-Bay ($4) because I already had a USB cord that I could use and it made it easier for me to connect and disconnect it.
