yeah your mapping looks good but over spinning turbo not good idea...just not efficient

your timing maps do look clean though congrats

The tune was done last week on 93oct fuel, car specs: Evo8, 2.3L, Kelford 272cams, ported head & intake manifold, oversized valves, 68mm TB, Gen 2 GTX3576R, .82 A/R turbo, max boost 26-27psi hitting 330 load between 4500-5000rpm, rev limit at 8000. I'm suppose to tune car on E85 next week, the plan is to increase boost to 32psi, but timing wise, I wonder is there room for
significant improvement before hitting MBT?
I'd appreciate your feedback

Thats a lot of timing if this is stock compression. These engines historically do not need much to run. It may be worth it to book a dyno session if possible and run the car at a low smoothing rate to see how its running. Then you can adjust timing and know exactly whats going on.

You won't find alot of power when you increase the timing from where it needs to run. It will just reduce the safety margin .

That timing is way high, Even if you were already on E85. 10* at 5k, then you have more timing at 6k rpm than you do at 8k... Just all of it is bad.

The tune was done over two days, by the end of the first day I had a conservative looking timing table with 1 degree at 5000rpm. The next day we wanted to maximize power & after several hours I ended up with the above table as we kept gaining more power as timing increased. I really don't have any problem with this 93oct tune as the current power level is very impressive & knock free. My concern is that I didn't leave enough room for any improvement using higher octane fuel. I don't have an access to dyno where I'm at, I guess I have no choice but to further increase timing when using E85 & try to look for MBT using Virtual Dyno.

I would back it down, then add the E85 for safety but thats just me.

How much power per degree was it gaining? Not that VD is really that great at consistent/repeatable numbers anyways.

Unless that's like an 8:1 motor, there is no way that timing is safe. And it's still nonsensical that timing is reduced from 6500 out the top.

^ This.

Are your knock multipliers stock? I would think you would have plenty of knock on that map...

Extremely aggressive.

The pistons installed are 9:1, head gasket is 1mm. I have to admit that the number are high, but it's knock free, I have incrementally increased timing over a few hours doing the tune. I use det cans to monitor knock, & knock multipliers are at stock values. @Letgetthisdone, I'm not sure what you meant " that timing was reduced from 6500 out the top"? Anyway, I'm not concerned about this current 93 map & I'm not about to alter it as the car had been driven hard & raced over the past week with no issues, again, my concern is the power gains in the next tune with e85. I'll do some runs & let you know how it goes.

As in you have like 14* @6500/330 load, but then only 10* at 8k and same load. That's not right.

Good luck with your engine.

Actually it's also 14* at 8k/330 load, that 10* is at 8500 rpm which I'm not hitting since the rev limit is set at 8k.

way too much timing from my experience strokers like less timing and will make good power. Too much timing ons troker will lift head.
