I interpolated the best I could by myself without the use of any map smoothing software. I actually noticed a few areas that needed some work (dead zones) when I posted my pic and fixed. (high load at 500 and 1000 rpm rows)

Maybe a dumb question but how to you interpolate correctly?

Pretty much look every every cell, row, column and make sure there is a smooth transition between the cells. You want to eliminate large variances.

I saw 3 counts of knock at 5500 260 at 5*, but i also have a slight boost leak...

Ok got ya...that's how I've been doing it just making sure this was a correct way.

I have my knock multipliers adjusted slightly, but more so on the low-end, only a slight adjustment during mid range, and stock setting on top end. I'm not sure exactly what RPM ranges each table reflects. I did this when I changed my front motor mount. Literally, that same day, my logs started showing more knock counts than ever. But, that was pre-cams. I also followed Merlin's way of determing false or phantom knock from real knock.

the map smoothing spreadsheet is quite useful, it helped me out a ton

You can cheat and open your map in ECUFLash - or appropriate software - and highlight a selection of cells and interpolate horizontally, vertically, or 2-dimensionally. If done correctly there will be a gradual transition applied from cell x(1) to cell x(n), with the difference between adjoining cells approximately [x(n)-x(1)]/(n).

Hopefully this made sense, and if I went overboard I blame sleep deprivation.

interpolation via shortcuts in ECU flash is a way to achieve numbers that make sense, but it should not be used as a way to achieve the correct numbers, it will put a straight line in portions of your mapping that maybe should have a little sag or hump. A great example of this is if you ECU Flash shortcut your (7000rpm,20load) all the way to the (7000,300) you would end up with some unfavorable conditions. So in summary, for short spans ECU flash shortcuts may work, but I would be a bad choice to do large quantities of map with this method.

Fuel mapping wont be as uniform and have logical numbers. Most of the time theres a crossover point. where AFRA= AFRM and on either side of it its off by a lot.

Below is my map. 352whp and 346 ftlbs on VD. 25.5 psi tapering to 20. All boltons, no cat, 264/272 cams.

Yes, I enjoy the sounds my car makes when I shift.

What does that do when you shift? I'm sure it back fires, but does it do anything else like anti lag by chance? A guy could dream

So Wizzo got me thinking... I'm not sure how much value there would be in a "Fully Tuned Fuel Map" thread but what about a "Fully Tuned Boost(WGDC) Map" thread? Might be interesting to see, especially for those that are on gear-based boost. Just thought I'd ask here before actually starting the thread.

I'd like to see it. I have a gear dependent WGDC map that I've spent a bit of time on, but I'd like to see what it's like compared to some others.
