software fix for the Rear O2 CEL for the Evo IX 88590015 ROM with v5 tephra rom?

In trying to use the software fix for the rear 02 cel by MrFred, and the V5 Tephra rom, I have noticed that the rear o2 sub routine already had differant entries than FFFF like it should have before I modified it. Do these two patches have occupy the same memory space? If they do is it possible to rewrite the o2 patch to work with the tephra v5 rom?

Thanks

Jason

RTFM...

V5 already has MrFreds rear o2 sim built in... you just need to enable it in the TephraMods list.

Don't try to apply MrFreds patch...

Sorry, missed the brief mention in the manual. Maybe my question should have been worded better. I added the code lines to ecuflash xml from mrfred and saw the code added. What I was referring to was the older one line code to disable the obd II check for 02 sensor. Should this be used along with the software fix in v5? Maybe someone could explain how they both work to me.

Thanks

Jason,

The o2 simulator, is just that - it's a software simulator for the rear o2 signal. It fools the ECU into thinking there is a sensor there.

The FAA bit2 check you are talking about that simply removes the check (for most ROMID's) that the rear02 signal is working.

The disadvantage of using the FAA bit2 is that you never pass ODB readiness, which means you wont pass emission's. Thus the advantage of using the simulator is you pass emission's.

Both patches require the sensor remain plugged in for the o2 heater check.

This has been covered many times, just not in one concise post perhaps.

ps Don't take the RTFM comment to heart, it wasn't meant to be offensive just for everyone to do more reading

Cheers
D.
