I uploaded EvoDan's mods to my rom and then cleared my trouble codes. My CEL went off. But when I turn my car off and then back on, it returned.

Here is a screenshot that shows the code:

You'll need to add more periphery table definitions to your ECUFlash ROM xml file, specifically periphery2. Make a copy of your periphery0 table, change the name to periphery2, and then change FAA to FCA. Then launch ECUFlash and post up the value for that table.

Ok, hopefully I did this right. Here is what I got after following your instructions. (Thanks, btw):

Change it to: 0DDF. You'll have to enter it as 0x0DDF (both of the "0"s are zeros). This will disable a slew of OBD-II tests. I'd like to disable just the Evap stuff, but its not possible. The periphery bits that control the Evap tests also control some other tests. The tests that will be disabled are:

P0443
P0446
P0403
P0243
P0090
P2263
P0450
P0451
P0452
P0453
P0441
P0442

As a side note, this may disable the Evap purge solenoid operation. Not sure whether that matters for you.

mrfred - any of those listed checks above of significant importance - like knock sensor or something that could prevent engine failure.

Nothing that could cause engine failure. Most are Evap tests. They are all listed in the FSM.

The only thing I did was your egr. Ad it was set to 0xEDDF.

I don't think anything I did gave you the cel your getting now. You just may have other issues going on. Best thing to do is scan the car and then find out.

Also if you turned the car off and then on it could be due to your rear o2 sensor. Do you have a rear o2? Is it working? Is there a tesrt pipe or cat on the car?.

If it is not ur rear o2 I'm gonna guess u got other issues going on

I'm going to have to peek my head in the Evo's booty to have a look at that EVAP canister. If its anything like a DSM. If the solenoid is left connected, but with no lines going to it - it will stay silent. And still allow you to remove the canister.

The hard line (evap line in engine bay) on my car is already capped, and all the other emissions related lines / hardware removed. (Solenoids in place, plugged in, no lines on them.) I even bypassed the FP solenoid. As well as EGR being blocked. I have the code disabled as shown above with Periphery 2. (rear o2 code patch as well)

I do not ever get codes. Any.

Maybe I'll yank the EVAP out tomorrow and see if it gives me a light.

Dan,
Your mod DID remove one CEL, so a big thanks for that. I'm working on the remaining 443 one now.

I have a rear 02 sensor installed. For some reason, I only get occaisional 420 codes (every couple of weeks or month) I clear that and my p0300 codes with a CReader...

I haven't flashed in the Mr. Fred's rom mod yet, but it changed the value of that table from EDDF to FBBE. I'll post up when I get to work to let folks know how it works.

I'll do some research on the Evap system today. I know nothing about how the Evap purge selenoid funtion works and how it could be harmful or not...
