I also have a 96420008, and was thinking of moving to tephra's 96420011 v5.10. From what I understand it's OK to move to the 96420011 from a rom of the same 'family', like the 96420008 or 96420007. Maybe someone who is 100% sure can chime in?
Does anyone use tephra's 96420011 v5.10? On the main tephramod v5.10 thread it is still listed as untested.

I've also seen some say to switch to the 94170015 for the P0300 fix. Just to confirm here, would the switch from 96420008 to 94170015 be OK? Would the immobilizer work? If so could 96420008 users adopt the tephramod for 94170015?
edit:
I ask because there is a lot of conflicting information out there...
Let's leave the question at this: What is the best supported rom for 96420008 users can switch to?

Is there a way to run 96530006 and keep the immobilizer working on 96420007 and/or 94170015?
I'd like to go over to 9653006 with my own car and others but it would be great if we could keep the immobilizer working.
As a second to what has been mentioned, 94170015 WILL NOT work to replace 96420007. As just a direct change immobilizer code and reflash type of thing anyway.

PM mrturco, he offers services to transfer the roms and pricing was quite reasonable considering the mods done.

I too just went from 96420008 to 94170005 and kept the immobilizer. The wiki tephra mentions below was very helpful in getting everything setup for it. Then just got a stock 96420008 rom from aktivematrix, compared all the tables to mine to know what exactly i had to copy over to the tephra 5.10 and everything was fine
