I've never logged a stock Evo and I've been thinking that it would be incredibly helpful to know how they behave in terms of knock counts not just during WOT pulls, but on daily driving.

I know that there is no need to try to fine tune for a knock free Evo, but if I knew how much and how often knock was deemed to be acceptable by Mitsubishi, I think I could put such knowledge to useful practice.

What have you guys seen on the stock Evo's you've logged?

when i logged my stock evo ix i was getting 1-2 counts

I had a friend who's 05' Evo had no counts of knock with 3rd gear pulls-bonestock.

Thanks for the replies. What about knock when just driving around at partial throttle - not aggressive driving?

I've seen stock Evo 8's and Evo 9's, on 91 oct, have from 3 counts to 16 counts of knock at higher rpm, in 3rd gear.

Sometimes I have abnormal knock while cruising.... but rare occasion.
